Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe coworkers are nice and mostly everyone is supportive and friendly to each other. But the organization of the company is horrible. Changes are hard for the company.

Depressing.
N/A (Former Employee) - Long Beach, CA - December 1, 2023
Stay away from this place, management was the worst in my working career, micromanage by manager and director. No team work "old cats" always come with there sonority rules. You will learn on your own cause no one will help you.

Great place to learn and grow
Executive Director (Current Employee) - Fountain Valley, CA - November 7, 2023
I’ve been with the company for nearly a decade and wouldn’t have a problem recommending it to anyone looking for a job. Mileage will vary, but my colleagues at the corporate office (including the senior management team) are supportive, accessible, and friendly. There are plenty of career growth and development opportunities (I’ve been promoted several times), and I have no plans on going anywhere else. Above all, I have the pleasure of working with some of the most mission driven people I’ve ever met, which makes for a great work environment.

What is the best part of working at the company? Truly is a Magnet facility. Good benefits and employee participation in committees is top notch. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? As with any place, sometimes staffing is short. Staffing office and management are great at helping to alleviate the shortages. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Good teamwork, listen to issues, hold Town Halls to keep all informed

Unit Secretary/Patient Care Technician (Current Employee) - Long Beach, CA - October 7, 2023
Management only cares about the RN and not those under the RN hardest, part of the job is not enough coverage and very busy the great part of the job are seeing parents discharge home with their premature babies healthy
Pros
Lunch is 30 minutes
Cons
Cafeteria is far away, so you don’t quite get 30 minutes

depends what unit you work in
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Long Beach, CA - September 24, 2023
worked multiple units. Mostly fun and supportive staff, except the ER. If the ones in charge don’t like you… they can make your shift an absolute nightmare, if they want to.

Jobs at MemorialCare
Busy back office
Medical Assistant (Current Employee) - Fountain Valley, CA - September 6, 2023
It's a great learning experience, however not much room for growth. Angry patients to deal with, but also some sweet! Programs easy to navigate, and new technology always.

Great company to work for
Marketing (Former Employee) - Fountain Valley, CA - September 6, 2023
Plenty of experience gained by working here. The company makes a conscious effort to make employees feel appreciated. Room to grow as well. The only con would be that there are times where employees can be overworked and the team can go long periods of being understaffed.

Fun if Passionate
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Laguna Hills, CA - August 12, 2023
I started volunteering here when I was very young out of love for medicine and the hospital environment. If you are only going to volunteer for high school volunteer hours and leave (no passion and cause more work for other volunteers)…please consider somewhere else…

HArd to work for your managers
UM Coordinator (Former Employee) - Fountain Valley, CA - August 11, 2023
Please be aware, there are two managers at the Fountain Valley office . One of those managers will make your time working there a nightmare, She will be calling you several times a day to micro-manage you until you get so sick of it.
Cons

Learning experience and good management
Desktop Support Technician (Current Employee) - Long Beach, CA - July 26, 2023
Working here is definitely a learning experience: and you learn a lot by just working day by day. Overall a great place to work, but management needs to do better.

You will not have recognition, appreciation nor acknowledgment for your service. You are replaceable at any time they decide. The turnover rate is consistently very high.

Cons
No advancement

Poor leadership
Physician (Former Employee) - Long Beach, CA - June 8, 2023
Poor communication and top down approach from management and leadership team. Too business oriented. There is faux care for employees, including physicians, other providers, and ancillary staff.

Great learning experience
LVN (Former Employee) - Long Beach, CA - May 13, 2023
A typical day can be anything but typical, depending on which facility you work at. Once it is known by upper management of your upper skill set, it can be used to their advantage, w/o appropriate compensation. I felt like there was too much focus on "he said, she said" accusations, then ones job performance.
Pros
Opportunity to move facilities and specialties
Cons
Not much room for advancement

Lowest pay
LVN (Former Employee) - Huntington Beach, CA - April 25, 2023
Pay doesn’t match the workload. Management is great but mostly just talk about supporting you don’t actually follow through. Benefits are ok but could be better considering how little they pay.

room for advancement
Registered Medical Assistant (Current Employee) - Anaheim, CA - March 21, 2023
There is definitely room for advancement and lots of open positions through out the organization. Management is okay. Supervisor has her favorites. other than that the job is great, great benefits, great doctors.
Pros
Room for advancement, benefits are great
Cons
short lunch breaks for MA's, favoritism
