I started volunteering here when I was very young out of love for medicine and the hospital environment. If you are only going to volunteer for high school volunteer hours and leave (no passion and cause more work for other volunteers)…please consider somewhere else…

I am a general volunteer and I learn a lot of new things each day. The team is very supportive and makes the work environment welcoming. I always look forward to my shifts and assisting patients.

Typical day at work would include outpatient visits with clients. Clients are typically respectful and kind. Interdisciplinary meets biweekly to discuss. Everyone sort of does their own thing but also comes together as a team during these meetings. Good starting salary.

Pros

Lunch at hospital is healthy, cheap and taste great!

Cons

Lots of outpatient visits so living in or near Orange County is a must!
