Great concept for healthcare but too few people could benefit due to wrong insurance.

What is the best part of working at the company? The PTO is unlimited. Great care for wound patients if they have the right insurance. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Turning away many patients that needed care because they had Medicare Advantage plans.

Excellent place to work

Mendota Health has a great work life balance. Gives me the right balance for patient contact, working with other care givers and provider schedules. The position offers a challenge so if you like to be challenged and pushed to success then this is the place for you.

Growing company that has good opportunities for existing and new employees

Mendota Health is a fast paced and growing organization that works to balance the needs of individual employees with that of the company. Shift in strategy from only growth to sustainable growth and increasing provider density in existing markets.Increasing support for clinical team including technology and tools to improve overall care and patient experience and outcomes

Pros

Entrepreneurial company, building on strong management team (e.g. new clinical leaders), investing in new clinical tools, flexible, adaptable to changing clinical and business needs

Cons

Frequent changes require flexibility and resiliency

Horrible leadership that lacks the common business sense to run a company effectively.

What is the best part of working at the company?Unlimited PTO, good commission structure What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The leadership change the direction of the company weekly. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Wfh or on the road. The culture is negative because most employees are waiting for the final call that the company is closing its doors. Management

Start up company as he has a little experience in home wound care. People are very nice but I wouldn’t say many nurses are experts in wound care. Most of them have just learned about Wound Care in the past year or two as new employees. Micromanagement at the administrative level, heavy documentation, constantly changing the work flow patterns.

does not care about core values and employees

No job stability. Mendota laid off 100's of employees and gave a 2 day notice which has left many staff to scramble for a job with such a short notice. A LOT OF TURN OVER. This is a startup company that pushes their marketing team and providers to oversell their CTP products. Not trustworthy. Please stay away from this company.

Long Term Security....No

You need to know this is a start-up company. If you are looking for stability and long-term employment this is not the right company. Be sure to really think everything through before accepting a position with this company. Is the position you are leaving worth losing everything you have gain at your job. Just really take the time to ask questions, and weight the pros and cons.

Pros

easy recruitment process and onboarding, manager was ok

Cons

communication, lack of strong leaders, no stability

Great pay and work life balance!

I love my current job with Mendota! The pay/bonus system is great. It is primarily remote and they have unlimited PTO! Leader ship is great and very helpful! It is a start up so processes do change often but I think they do a great job at giving you grace. I truly can’t say enough good things about this company!

Pros

Pay and work life balance

Cons

Its a start up

Startups are great... for some

Mendota Health is a high growth startup. That sounds fun and sexy to many people but it's not a fit for everyone. In fact, it's a great fit for only a few personalities. To be successful here, you must thrive on constantly identifying opportunities and solving challenges. The company consistently outgrows processes that worked well the previous week. That's the reality of a startup and it is not for everyone. Management does a solid job of setting a consistent long-term strategy and vision but the day-to-day priorities needed to execute that strategy do change. A lot. If reading that gets you excited, Mendota Health will be a great fit for you. If reading that makes your stomach turn, don't waster your time here.

Pros

Fast-paced, high energy, great culture focused on the patient

Cons

Emerging market still trying to figure out product fit

downsizing

They have a lot of well intentioned people and a great mission. But the last year they hired top management positions and got completely top heavy. Today the teams feed went nuts and several of us found out we were "laid off". They gave us 2 days notice. I was told its because I am part time. I hired on as part time. They have an absolute lack of foresight and planning. They over hire, overuse CTP, over plan without follow thru...In one year I have had 4 managers and my "region" changed twice and we have had two charting systems --neither of which worked well and two clock in systems. There is no plan for vacation coverage or emergencies...you scramble last minute to figure out who is closest and how everyone will be seen. It has frequently felt like they woke up one day and said "lets start a wound care company." They like to say "we are building the plane as we fly it." You better make sure they thought far enough ahead to bring oxygen masks. That being said...I do think most of the top leadership are trying to do the right thing...I'm just not convinced they know what that is...Updated---After finding out we had been downsized--the CEO said that those left should feel "lucky". The next thing we knew there was a flurry of activity, we were muted on meetings, shut off of our email before all of our visits were even completed, we were promised they would reach out to our patients and our Home Health partners and they didn't and then they sent out a survey asking what "we wanted leadership to know". Then the CNO reached out to several of us in what may have been a perfectly -

Short-term employment, lots of turn-over

Easy interview process and onboarding process, and training. Lots of turn-over, just remember this is a start-up company when you apply. Things can change at a moment's notice, and you'll be unemployed. It's not a bad place to work, just no long-term stability. I hope if they ever build back up funds, they bring back some of the great employees they laid off.

Only one goal in mind, and it’s not the patient

-Strong emphasis on use of extremely expensive products that the patients could never afford without complete insurance coverage. Chastised when using less expensive products that are just as effective. -Clinical staff is in the low minority of all employees. Mainly sales people and account managers. -Don’t listen to employees, toxic and aggressive micro management, poor work/life balance, no loyalty to employees-owners have no background or experience in wound care, and most clinical staff do not either-staff turnover is really high, even among licensed clinicians-start up without a clue

Pros

Competitive wages, no holidays/weekends/on-call

Cons

Everything else

Be sure to ask questions on job security

LAID OFF VIA ZOOM TODAY - Mendota Health was ok to work for. I worked hard, and trusted my manager, and the leadership team and to be let go let this hurts. Today they laid off over half the company and it was done via a group video zoom invite, that was sent only to those being laid off, makes me think so different by Mendota Health. I feel sorry for everyone affected.

Pros

Cons

no strong leadership

Not to be trusted

After receiving nothing but positive and supportive feedback during my employment, I was terminated. When I asked why, I was given two false reasons. When I requested it in writing, it was a different reason, which was also false. I truly enjoyed my work and my team. I trusted the leaders I worked with and reported to. I never saw this coming.

Cons

Startup that has unrealistic expectations

This company jumped on the home wound-care bandwagon late in the game and had unrealistic expectations about how they can compete with larger companies who were already well-established. In addition they are extremely disorganized in their hiring strategy, so that a sales rep can be on the bankroll for months at a time with no Nurse Practitioner yet hired to provide the care the sales reps are supposed to be selling, thus making success impossible.Lastly, messaging from management is scattered, contradictory, and inaccurate. It’s an embarrassment to convince a physician or Home Healthcare company to refer their patients to you only to have to go back to them and say we can’t help you or your patients but thanks for wasting your time and efforts to try and use us.Also not contracted with any insurance other than Medicare classic, meaning you have to ask clients to cherry-pick only their most highly reimbursed patients to refer to Mendota, with no benefit to the referral partner in return.

Pros

Remote office, freedom in scheduling

Cons

Impossible to succeed

Great Place to work

I worked for Mendota but unfortunately had to relocate for my family. The company really values the employees’ work-life balance and the care of the patients. The job allowed for autonomy, a voice to give suggestions/concerns, and flexible schedules. The managers worked hard to resolve any concerns and considered all suggestions brought to them which I’ve never experienced at previous jobs. There was a lot of changes but that was expected upon my hiring due to the company being a new start and with those changes I felt supported greatly by the managers. I learned a lot from my managers and coworkers. I walked in not having any wound care background and left with a great deal of knowledge. I wish there was a Mendota in my state!

MH is changing the landscape of wound care

Mendota Health is flipping the script of traditional advanced wound care and bringing it directly to patients where is benefits them the most - the comfort of their own home. MH is a wonderful company to be a part of because we have a clear mission and vision. It is easy to see how your work at this company makes direct and positive changes both internally with coworkers and externally with our patients.

Highly disorganized.Poor training for new employees. Roles are unclear. Policies are unclear. My direct manager was helpful but she seemed stretched. Would NOT recommend working here.
