Responding to the previous answer: No one has ever worked until 1am that I've ever heard of, nor has anyone ever been told that they will be done at 3:30pm. We tell all field technicians that you have a set start time but not a set end time. It can be anyway between 2pm - 7pm, depending on the day. Certain times of the year will have longer hours, and other times will have shorter hours. HVAC is dependant on what the weather is doing.

Work is not always consistent (just the nature of the trade) - Some weeks are very busy with lots of over time available and other weeks one is lucky to get 30 hours. The more you know, the busier you will ultimately be.
