Metals USA was a great place to work. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. I made a lot of friends whom I am still friends with today. Almost 10 years later. We all pitched in to help each other.

Material Handler (Former Employee) –  Randleman, NCApril 18, 2018
Poor salary, poor management & communication. Extreme favoritism to some employees, nit-picky to others. Bonuses depended on your status as a "favored employee".
Pros
Good Insurance

Sales Manager, Non Ferrous (Former Employee) –  Germantown, WIApril 11, 2018
This is an unsupportive group toward sales and sales people.

This is a place I cannot recommend.

The turn over rate in some divisions for sales is very high.

Good place to work overall. They treated employees well and management was always available. Wish there was more learning of new things. Didn't like being a cubicle all the time.

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Mobile, ALJanuary 9, 2018
Metals started out as a great place to work, they gave us quarterly bonuses, safety bonuses and then it all disapeared over the years.. they had at least 4 different plant managers in a 7 year time span, they punished all the wrong people for small mistakes verses the employees that has been there for years. they only got an slap on the rist for there mistakes

Material Handler (Current Employee) –  Waggaman, LANovember 3, 2017
This place is a protocol mess! Do not bother applying. Whoever is reading this review you are more talented and intelligent to work for metals. This place has difficulty keeping employees based on work ethic. Management would rather terminate your job than to see you succeed somewhere else within the facility. Opinions don't matter to upper supervision. They will have the upper hand or just won't listen. Totally unorganized and uncomfortable atmosphere.

Crane Operator (Former Employee) –  Ambridge, PAOctober 26, 2017
We would do our crane inspections before we run the overhead cranes. We would make sure we had on proper PPE and understood OSHA requirements. We'd look at the order and grab material to be loading on trucks.

Saw Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Waggaman, LAOctober 10, 2017
The company has unrealistic expectations of their employees with no annual raise but expect so much from their employees. They think their employees are expendables and they fire their employees without justifications. Poor turn overs of staff.
Pros
health insurance
