Not a very nice place to work. Everything seems good but in reality management just puts a smile on but they have no clue how unhappy the workers are.
Crane Operator (Current Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAMarch 18, 2019
Do not believe what you hear or see it is very deceiving. The smile on managements face is only because they have no idea what it takes to work in the shop. Not do they no how. I always wondered how I knew more than management but got paid far less.

Forklift Operator/ Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Germantown, WIMarch 4, 2019
Metals U.S.A. is a great job for an individual looking for a lot of overtime and advancement in the company. Work duties are fairly simple beside machine operating, I have been promoted 3 times within 2 1/2 years here and the management is top of the line. The hardest part of the job on my machine is the mandatory 10 hour shifts plus Saturdays. Everyday there is different. which is a good thing so the job is not redundant. lifting skids, packing them and stocking finished goods is the bulk of the work. Minor computer skills and a safety first attitude are a must
Pros
Great group of guys to work with and excellent leadership
Cons
manditory 10 hour shifts plus weekends

Preach one thing live another. Big on safety as long as it does not affect production. Management breeds a bad work environment. Benefits are good. Salaries are very low long hours.
Cons
no raises

Material Handler III (Former Employee) –  Oakwood, GANovember 19, 2018
Metal work is not for everyone.

It is very hot in the summer.

It is very dangerous moving material that heavy in the air with cranes mostly. Theses risks can be minimized with proper training and extreme awareness of capabilities and surroundings.

A great place to work with good benefits. There was plenty of room for advancement with this company. The culture was consistent with expectations of completing the work on time or ahead of schedule.

Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  Neylandville, TXAugust 1, 2018
I hated every waking moment of working at this God awful wretched place. Everybody smelled like tacos. I had to plug my nose with whatever was available which usually ended up being oily shop rags.

Terrible company to work for
Accounting Clerk (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJuly 8, 2018
This company was so disorganized that it was a nightmare to work for them. End of month closing in accounting meant working 18 hour days for 2-3 days on end, every single month. Management was clueless as to anyone's job duties or how they were done.

Hectic and challenging place to work.
Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Greensboro, NCJune 6, 2018
Typically assigned to one of four or five machines. Varies by day. Work orders can be organized and well timed or you could get 14 orders due by the end of the day all at one time.
Supervisors are knowledgeable and professional, the office staff seems disconnected with the reality of a manufacturing environment.
Pros
Quarterly safety bonuses
Cons
Promised pay increase doesn't happen
