MFCU was a wonderful workplace to be in. The company employs good matches for the banking industry and always takes your thoughts/opinions into consideration. They are advanced in the way of training their employees.
We did a full software changeover of the teller system as well as other systems and they trained the employees very well, using in branch training, training at the corporate building, weekly/monthly challenges that you had the opportunity to get paid out for if you did well.
They take full action on employee celebration week and give out gift cards and the managers learn to know their employees and coworkers well enough that you generally feel fully appreciated.
Wonderful company to work for.

Metro Credit union took over Boston Globe Credit union, more interested in selling their products than customer service. Location was very dangerous, never felt safe.

A typical workday includes various teller transactions. I enjoyed being part of the end of day balancing of ATM machines and bank vault. It gives employees a feeling of importance. Management is extremely supportive of staff. The entire company encourages staff to attend training to obtain better knowledge and be cross trained within different departments.

A typical day at Metro was anything but typical. Balancing cash drawers checks and coin machines was always something different. the hours of operation were one thing and the hours of actual work were another. As a teller one is not allowed to leave until everyone is balanced completely so some days were a lot longer than others. I learned a lot working for the main branch. Opening accounts closing accounts reports that have to be submitted goals that have to be met.For the most part everyone works as a team to have the best results possible. The hardest part of the job was finding the best way to meet the needs of every member.

On a daily basis at Metro Credit Union, I review loan applications, review first mortgage and second mortgage home equity loans, and data entry. I have learned different loan products and complying requirements. I enjoy working with my co-workers and everyone is very friendly and a pleasure to work with. We work as a team and this gets the job done in a timely manner.
