Laborer (Former Employee) –  Concord, NCAugust 5, 2019
Learned how to drive a crane. Managers are very in tune with employees. Managers make sure you learn how to do your job properly before leaving you alone

General Laborer (Former Employee) –  Huntersville, NCJuly 27, 2019
They hired anyone who applied and can pass the drug screening. The job was very physical and demanding. It's okay for a job, but a career here is not ideal.

Lowes, depot and walmart perennial and annual plant provider
District Manager (Current Employee) –  MultistateJune 19, 2019
Sweaty outdoor work. 3 customer teams. Some teams expected to work every other weekend, but not all teams. Be on walmart team for best gig, depot team for worst gig, lowes in between.
Pros
Somewhat flexible schedile, depending on the insecurities of regional manager.
Cons
Regional managers with highschool educations only, snd not much real world business experience outside of this company.

ASSISTANT MANAGER OF GROWING (Former Employee) –  Huntersville, NCJune 12, 2019
Poor working conditions and uncaring management. Not much chance for advancement within the company. Your physical wellness is an after thought to getting plants shipped on time. The only thing that I learned from this company was how not to treat employees if you want them to be loyal and dedicated.
Pros
None that I can think of
Cons
Uncaring management

A Job with no future
greenhouse worker (Former Employee) –  Huntersville, NCMay 27, 2019
You are encouraged to work hard and miss no days for 25 days and you will earn a raise to $12/hr. Once you reach that goal, and you have no fore warning, they lay you off. I would have loved to stay on that job and earn benefits, but they went on to hire more fresh meat.I didn't even come in late.

Greenhouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Mooresville, NCMay 21, 2019
Very face paced enviroment. The temp outside and inside the building is about the same except during summer months its like 20 degrees hotter indoors than outdoors. That was the only bad thing for me.
Pros
air conditioned breakrooms
Cons
The heat during summer

I did not enjoy working here
General Laborer / Tractor Operater (Former Employee) –  York, SCMay 13, 2019
I took the job a Metrolina Greenhouses because there were some bills that I had to pay. And it was the only immediate job option I saw. I did not like having to bend over or working outside in very hot or cold and rainy weather.
Pros
Free pizza
Cons
Working outside

Working with plants
Propagation Team Member (Current Employee) –  Huntersville, NCApril 20, 2019
Starting at 6:55 AM - 4:00 PM (overtime when needed and peak season may work Saturday)
More than just sticking a tiny plant into the soil. Different types of plants require different soil, dried bugs, and chemicals
Management is very easy to work for
Fast paced, everything is a production environment, breaks and lunch times can't be late
Working out in the elements
Most enjoyable part is the actual sticking of the plants and knowing that I followed all requirements so as to not have them returned to redo.
Pros
Leaving at 4:00
Cons
Having to get up at 4:30 AM

Warehouse Worker (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCApril 9, 2019
First you have to walk a great distance from the parking lot to the time clock. (4 min walk)
Then from the time clock to your locker.. Wherever it maybe located. (1 to 2 min walk)
Then to your site location. (3 to 4 minute walk)
Thats for the beginning of your shift.

You'll get a 20 min break which is more like a 10 min break. Might as well not leave your sight location.

An that 45 minute lunch break. Is a joke if you plan on going to the food truck. You'll have to wait in line on your feet for about 15-20 mins. So it would be best if you bought your own lunch. That way you can rest longer. Cause you are going to need that rest in order to make it thru the rest of the shift.

If a machine breaks. Pick up a broom an sweep. Don't rest your feet because theres no time for that and they don't approve of standing around.
So you have to work, work, work all busy bodies.

Don't ever be late it will be frowned upon.
Put your phone in the locker
And mind your business
Cause everybody in there wants your job.
So watch your back
Pros
A check I guess
Cons
Breaks, management
