Start but don't finish here
Senior Auditr (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMay 18, 2018
MARTA is a great place to start your career. However, it is no longer a place for longevity. Pay raises are small, there are no bonuses, and you are not paid to industry standards.
Pros
Great place to start a career
Cons
Lack of upward mobility and pay not at industry standards

Great! with small communication problems
Engineering and Architecture Intern (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMay 7, 2018
The people and management at MARTA are Top Notch. The only problems are that they have is communication between departments and response time. I had to wait two months to get the software I needed, because of the volumes of people they have to take care of. I suggest more staff in that area.
Pros
Great Company Training, Well paid, benefits
Cons
Communication between departments

If you get an opportunity to work for this company please take advantage of it. It was the best i ever had. I would still be there if i hadnt gotten laid off for lack of seniority. I am definitely trying to get back on Marta's workforce

A wonderful place to have a career
MARTA BUS OPERATOR (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMay 4, 2018
Marta is a wonderful company to work for. They have all the whistles and bells of an attractive total package. I love marta and I love being an operator. The hours are long and stress levels are high. Dealing with the public is a skill, everyday is interesting. The salry is great. The management is awesome. The rules vary which makes it a complex company with their own laws of the land. Overall I would give marta 4 stars.
Pros
Competitive salaries
Cons
No lunch breaks

Not an open environment
Safety Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAApril 28, 2018
Beware, it is not what you think. The cultural environment is not well suited for change. The environment can be bitter and toxic where they seek to negotiate issues versus come up with resolutions. Senior level Management on the AGM level is quite preferential and indifferent where collaboration appears more like CYA vs standing on principles. I also fear that the Unsafe attitudes are a reflection of unresolved behaviors being exibited by overworked and under appreciated staff. In essence they should peel back the layers of their percieved succeses to repair the image of the organization outside the perimeter.

Great Coworkers, Horrible Management & Public Experience
Transportation Equipment Operator (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAApril 4, 2018
The Public Runs The Company. They Are Rude, Entitled, & Very Disrespectful to drivers. You are treated like the lowest of the low. If you are not being cussed out, attacked, and disrespected by customers, You are being harassed by the supervisors. So you catching it from both ends.
Pros
Free Rides, Great Coworkers
Cons
Short Breaks, Verbally Attacked (Sometime Physically) everyday, Bad Station conditions, Bad Bus conditions

Superintendent/General Superintendent (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMarch 22, 2018
A typical day at work with willing to work personnel was great. For the most part the majority of the personnel is just there.

MARTA overall need to revamp and stop the buddy system. Hire personnel that's willing to work and dependable.
