I applied online and about a week later after not receiving a call, I went into the store to ask if I could talk to a manager to follow up on my application. A manager came out to meet me in the store and asked if I'd be willing to do an interview on the spot. We went into the classroom where I answered a few easy questions and I was hired.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Michaels a better place to work?
Give more hours to the workers who stock the shelves and unload the trucks. I would also not make rules about how many minutes each Aisle takes to stock and clean up. I would be mindful of how big a truck is and how long it can take to get all products on the shelves. I would also make sure my employees understand that not everyone can go super fast their whole shift.
Ive worked for them twice. About a 3-4 yrgap. First time around i got 20-30 hrs at ~10.50. Coming back i got anywhere from 0 to 20 hrs a week. Even after great experience on my last i was re-hired at 9.75 an hour. Even had a bout of 14 days off..... yeah. Nope.
