You got about 7 "instances" of absence per year, which was nice. What that meant was if you got the flu and were out for multiple days, it only counted as one absence for you. If you were out more than two consecutive days, you would have to have a doctor's note, however, and since only full timers got insurance, it made getting sick as a part timer unduly taxing.

There are no official sick days until you have worked full time for a year, but there is a call-out limit of 7 per year currently. For the year that I worked there, the call-out policy changed two times. It was shortened to 5 the first time, then extended to 7. I do not know what it was prior to that.

Sick time is 40 hours per year. When you use sick time they take away from your vacation time unless you ask for it to be taken away from sick time.

If you were to have a sick leave it would count as a vacation hour or absent hour
