I'd pay my employees more, not rob them of their bonuses, wouldn't allow old employees with a track record of not certifying new hires because they want to continue getting paid to be a trainer (also if you have a high turnover rate- which you do, in specific areas- it could be just one old bad apple contaminating the work environment.), I'd give out truly anonymous surveys to guage my emoloyees' pros and cons, and I'd follow up with my new hires to see what's working and what is not to make them feel like they matter. I'd take the information and implement change. I wouldn't charge such high prices in canteen and I'd make the cafeteria accessible to all shifts.
