Program Manager/Planner (Former Employee) – Kansas City, MO – June 18, 2018
You will not get rich working at MARC, but it's a great agency that does good work. Pro: great place to start a career and make connections to local communities. Con: agency is run in a very autocratic way. Very hierarchical.
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) – Kansas City, MO – May 25, 2016
This company is focused on community and social development, and every initiative they get involved in is wonderful. The company cares about and respects its employees, and involves its employees in the development of its core values. Great people to work with, and very well run. The occasional free lunch is also a nice perk.
While the nature of its funding means specific jobs are not secure (grants run out, etc.), the company makes every effort to retain employees when a particular job expires by finding another place for them, and they will certainly give priority to current employees for advancement if they are qualified for the role.
If you look at their website, please review the Core Values, it says a great deal about the company, and the attitudes of both the staff and management.
I worked there as a temp and would jump at the opportunity to join them as a permanent employee, I can't say enough about how great this company is.
Great Management, high respect and consideration of employees; initiatives you can be really proud to be a part of
Grant-funded jobs may not be secure (although company makes every effort not to lay people off, gives you plenty of notice to look for alternatives, including other positions within company)
Manager (Current Employee) – Kansas City, MO – August 8, 2016
MARC is great place to gain experience and interact with local public sector leaders. The organization is small, so there are not many opportunities for promotion. Employees tend to be very driven to make the region a better place.

Grant Accountant II (Current Employee) – Kansas City, MO – October 10, 2012
A wonderful place to work to be of service to the Kansas City Community by providing access to grant program funding. The staff are hard working, dedicated, and are working on grants that are of personal and professional interest.
