Severely Dysfunctional
Senior Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Oak Brook, ILApril 14, 2018
Pros: There are none, except that it was once said that you could deficate in the lobby and not get fired. This is not really a positive for those employees who have any level of competence. This allows Middough to maintain the dead wood that is constantly tarnishing the companies reputation, losing significant amounts of money in the form of project losses due to poor management, and ticking off employees that have a level of competence in either engineering or management.

Cons: No leadership - company operated on a smoke and mirrors philosophy to protect special employees that are incompetent. Zero accountability amongst the entire senior management team. Project losses in the 100k+ range without consequences for the managers. Senior managers care more about buget and schedule than they do about Quality. Clients beware - senior management requests employees to bill to projects to cover overhead and activities directly unrelated to project work. This approach is completely unethical and possibly illegal.

Advice to Management: The company really needs to place competent individuals in the appropriate positions. Quit coddling emotions and finish the house cleaning that is long overdue. Management be warned, employees are taking note of your work practices and building a case for when the time comes. Your immoral and unethical behavior has not gone unnoticed and will be made public in due time.

Middough
Project Assistant, contracted to BP Husky refinery (Former Employee) –  Toledo, OHJuly 6, 2017
It was a job when I needed it. The culture is management geared. Many people are currently leaving to work for other companies. They monopolize BP's document control department and are combative if another contract company wants to work in document control. They have no match for their 401K. Workers at the office often show up late and leave early but still have 40hour checks.
Pros
It gave me experience working at BP.
Cons
Training is questionable and coveted to a select few who do not share information.

Productive Workplace with Efficient & Highly Skilled Workforce
Draftsman (Current Employee) –  Buffalo, NYDecember 29, 2016
Middough is an excellent opportunity for new hires & entry level professionals in engineering, architecture, & management. Workforce is knowledgeable & experienced allowing new hires to have proper supervision to aclemate to the working environment. However, room for growth is very limited, professional skill development & training is lacking for employees who seek to better refine or develop new skill sets professionals often do not have access to skill resource classes or technical training on specific operations used by the company. Management is professional at the immediate office branches, however overall corporate structure has had setbacks in securing contracts for assignments leading to a cutback in employee opportunities & benefits. Middough has been an excellent door opener to my professional career but a change was in order to advance my skills & seek a more stable long-term outlook for success.
Pros
Expert Management, Entry-level, skilled professionals.
Cons
Limited growth opportunities, lack in professional training, corporate setbacks.

Big company trying to get a foothold in Houston with very little success.
Sr. Plant Layout & Piping Designer (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMarch 17, 2016
Big company from Cleveland, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois. The project that I worked on was a government funded boondoggle with several big oil companies all trying to put their 2 cents in and it all ended up dragging the project out indefinitely and created a lot of stress for the Engineering and Design groups.
Pros
The Engineering management and Piping Design Management were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Cons
The project wore everyone out with the indecision, bad decisions of the Client Engineers in charge.

Poorly run company
Manager (Former Employee) –  Oak Brook, ILOctober 25, 2015
Poor leadership, they lead by intimidation. They are financially not strong and are in a great deal of trouble. They constantly hire and fire people because they do not have the workload to keep people gainfully employed. The senior leaders like to sit and read employee's emails, but when you ask them for help with something, they say that they are too busy. Good ol' boy network, women are not seen as valuable assets to the company.
Pros
Nice office in Oak Brook with shopping nearby
Cons
CEO and senior leaders are inept

Terrible Company, Terrible Management, Terrible Employees
Manager (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHAugust 23, 2015
No doubt, the most inefficient and worthless organization I have worked for in my entire career. It is nothing more than a job shop that treats employees slightly better than disposable razors. Policies are arbitrarily changed at the whim of the primary owner who runs the organization as a dictatorship. Any attempts at trying to bring some level of accountability are turned into attempts by discipline managers to challenge the credibility of the change agent. Their idea of efficiency is requiring senior managers to come in on their personal time during weekends to attend required training and then count those hours as an "investment" by the firm to training. What a joke, just like the organization.
Pros
People can more or less come and go as they please as long as they can find a contract to bill to, regardless if it's accurate or not.

A temporary place to work!
Engineer (Former Employee) –  Oak Brook, ILJuly 9, 2013
Middough will work the person day and night, and then eliminate the person when there is no work for short periods of time. This does not establish much loyalty between the employee and employer. This creates a transient work force that is difficult to manage. The people are the only thing that made the job bearable. This company has no culture...needs one bad!
Cons
Elimination of 401K, few holidays
