When a teacher is out for a mandatory training or sick or for a discretionary day and a substitute doesn’t pick up her class then her coworker are required to SPLIT your students for the day. This is a terrible decision as it is beyond stressful for the already overwhelmed teacher, causes feelings of frustration between colleagues, learning is not optimal for any of our students, and behavior issues are multiplied.
You are given 5 local days and 5 state days, but you are made to feel guilty if you have to take them due to lack of subs.
