This is a great growing, profitable company. I have worked my way through the ranks as this company provides the platform to grow as you wish. I highly recommend Midland States Bank not only to work for, but also to bank with!
Teller 1 in Rockford, IL, Rockford Main Location
on January 27, 2021
I first started working at Midland States Bank when it was Alpine Bank. It was way better when it was Alpine, even for employees. There is not enough compensation, at least for tellers, for the work that we were tasked with, especially my location. We were always understaffed, and when we weren't, management would take employees away that we clearly needed to talk to them or show them something new. Management was toxic. They almost always made it out to be the tellers' fault we were doing something wrong when in fact, if we had the management's help as much as we needed, we would not be in the messes we were many times in. I'd say skip over this company and find a better one. At least do not work for the Rockford Main location. Too much work, not enough compensation. Workers' hours were cut because productivity was not matching employees. People were also randomly fired company-wide to "streamline" business.

Pay is ok for what you do. However training is severely lacking, work is very stressful, and benefits are not great. Also work environment varies greatly branch by branch.

Emphasis on culture. Good co workers. Training is not good. Training is very lacking in producing confidence in knowledge received to do job well. Also no job security, always letting big groups go, no matter how long worked for them.

I worked as a part time teller here, you get along with everyone including management and coworkers. They push you to try to get a higher position and the customers are always understanding my branch loves to have a friendly relationship with every single person!
