I would like the CEO to know that management changed the job description after I took the job. Job posting read every third weekend and every third holiday which is why I took the job in the first place. After working there a few weeks management met with new employees and in that meeting we all learned that management had changed the schedule to be every other weekend and every other holiday. When I addressed that I had other responsibilities and took the job because I thought it would offer me the flexibility to balance my life between obligations, I was told in a very nonchalant way that if I didn't like it I could leave. Not very happy how they are always short staffed and many of the employees are looking elsewhere for employment where they will be appreciated.
Hire a completely new management team. Fix staffing issues. Allow for adequate time off. Create a safer work environment. Happy nurses will create a better ED.
