Its hard to balance work and home with this company, you receive no advance word on last minuet mandatory over time, you are just expected to cancel on home plans or figure out some thing if you have kids. if you are a single person, who loves to work as much as possible this is the place for you. if you are looking to work your sift and go home to your family and family plans, this is probably not the place to work.

This is a good job for people with a high school education, it is repetitive but the pay is ok and the management is easy to get along with.

Truss Builder/Equipment Operator (Former Employee) –  Eau Claire, WIDecember 10, 2015
The management will bounce you around from position to position whether you have training in that area or not. on a weekly basis I went from driving a forklift, to cutting scrap wood for the chipper, sitting in a room watching the chipper (very boring), to running a cut saw, to loading truck trailers. I never had consistency in any department.
Pros
you can quit

Nice place to work. Management is very understanding of my school schedule and is able to work with it. Hardest part of the job is getting used to the manufacturing workplace. Overall, good place to get manufacturing experience.

Operations Assistant (Current Employee) –  Eau Claire, WIAugust 25, 2014
The job is repetitive, dirty and the pay could be better or even have pay grades based on what you know and have learned or operate. I learned all the CNC machines within 8 months of service and make less then people who have been there longer and havent tried to learn anything new. Frustrating! Management is good and MOST will work along with you. Co-workers can for lack of better terms be complete idiots! Safety is practiced and accidents rarely happen, but dont look for anything you may find plenty wrong. Labor intensive if you're not used to that type of work dont apply. Benefits are best to find else where. Job security is of the best.
Pros
You get a treat in the mail every holiday. Managers will buy dinner when its needed.
Cons
Healthcare, cleanliness, organization is terrible

Office Assistant (Current Employee) –  Eau Claire, WIAugust 18, 2014
Fast paced working environment with limited availability for advancement for office staff. Must be able to think quickly and handle difficult customers over email and by phone. Must be able to operate multiple computer programs simultaneously. Staff required to handle job duty changes with little or no notice.

Production Assistant (Former Employee) –  Eau Claire, WIJuly 23, 2014
While the job is not particularly challenging, the people, management and hours make it almost unbearable. Between the catty attitudes of the employees, the mandatory overtime and the management that seems almost deaf to any concerns or complaints, this employer is a challenge to stay with.

Office Assistant (Current Employee) –  Eau Claire, WiJuly 20, 2014
This job as given me a lot of experience that I do not think I would have had the opportunity to have without Menards. I have been able to see the buy and accounts payables side of the business. I moved through various departments and levels of the company and I have been able to see how each branch of the company affects the others and overall what it means for our sales at the store level.
