Mingus Mountain Academy was a good place and some people are there to help. Yet their tactics on how to help are pretty ruthless and aggressive. The management same thing good and bad. Don't pay enough to what the ask of you.

Lots of hours, very little team work or employee appreciation. Very clinkie, if you don’t know the right people or the right people don’t know you there you won’t get anywhere but broken and burned out

I truly enjoyed working with the girls. They were challenging, but the work was rewarding. It was awesome to see the progress they could make when they allowed themselves to be vulnerable.
What I really struggled with was the staff culture. I had several staff that kept pulling me aside to 'reprimand' me. To let me know that I wasn't doing things - more... right. (their 'right' way of doing things was treating the girls like they were in a 'scared straight' tv show). My philosophy was 'if you want the girls to know how to behave appropriately and learn to trust, you show them what that looks li ... - less
ProsLots of PTO. Rewarding work with the girls
ConsStaff culture is hostile if you don't 'buy in'
