Director of Accreditation & Assessment in Minneapolis, MN

I had a great experience
I worked for one of the best people I've ever known. She advocated for my department while being direct and honest about what we needed to accomplish.
SECURITY OFFICER in Minneapolis, MN
on June 4, 2020
Do you want to work for completely incompetent, yet arrogant management? Do you enjoy having no job security, even after management agrees to terms pre-hire? Perhaps you'd like to work for a school that is terrified of the students who attend there? Last but not least, do you want to have drug addict co-workers with track marks on their arms, but management does nothing because they are a person of color? Look no further! It's pure luck this place hasn't had many security issues. For $17/hour, you can work with a “supervisor” who blatantly disregards half of the rules in the SOP he created & ignores concerns & suggestions you have for the department. I have brought up concerns & suggestions, even going as far as having a meeting with HR; my complaints were swept under the rug by both supervisor & HR. For $17/hour, you’ll be part of a dream team of professional looking individuals with shirts untucked, eyes rolled to the backs of their heads & RBF at all times & a constant itch to smoke a cig. For $17/hour, you can work with an admin “officer” who like clockwork, takes every Sunday if not every other Sunday off because he has Fridays & Saturdays off, & takes hour or more-long “lunches.” For $17/hour, you work with a handful of “full-time” officers & 3 “on-call-never-want-a-shift” officers, thus, you get volun-told to work extra hours/days because your fellow full-time coworkers fall “ill” & the on-calls don’t want to work. For $17/hour, you get to listen to classical music on a free shelf blue-tooth speaker &/or constant Republican rambles on YouTube & Facebook when you are at the desk with an officer who’s been there for 18 years. This same officer, will stalk students on CCTV, zooms in on females’ behinds & makes comments about women (HR is aware of this 18 year on-going behavior), spends a majority of his shift sleeping in the vehicle or playing the piano, & pick flowers outside. If he isn’t found at the piano, he can be found at the free shelf. If you’re lucky, he may even share his cologne collection with you! For $17/hour, you can work with an officer who is obsessed with a particular set of keys, spending half her shift shopping for snakes & complains when other officers don’t do their job. The same officer has an egotistical complex like no other, gung-ho about becoming a LEO & seeing herself as better than everyone else. & if you feel safe working at a campus who allows a student who had multiple “fake” firearms in his dorm & instilled worry & fear in his peers, to remain housed on campus, this is the job for you. For $17/hour, you too, can represent the campus while driving a janky run-down, physically dirty & smelly vehicle & be the Public Safety Officer MCAD needs! Go get em tiger!
Media Center Work Study in Minneapolis, MN

I learned a massive amount about all types of AV, film, and photo equipment. Everyone there is really nice. If you are going into a field that requires a lot of technical skills and uses a lot of equipment then it's a really good part-time position.
Graduate Teaching Assistant in Minneapolis, MN
on December 13, 2019
Great community, awesome faculty. Very thorough and deliberate in the curriculum and what was expected of the faculty and student body. Stressful at times due to the work load, however very rewarding and great connections within the artist community afterwards.
