If you have never worked in a recovery center before, this is a good stepping stone. I love that most of us who work here are in recovery and can understand the clients in that way. It is very structured for clients and staff, which is a big plus. I love that we have a ticket program for clients to earn money to get stuff that they need at canteen. The campus is super beautiful but inside the buildings are run down. We don’t have a very good budget for things that we need which can get very frustrating. The staff for the most part are wonderful to work with. There is of course some bad apples like anywhere you go. Our CFO is always on campus which is wonderful and she is right down amazing. The only real training you get is the Orientation and then once on the floor, you are just thrown into it. We are heavily short staffed, that could be because this location out of all the rehab facilities around Pays more than Mirror Lake. So don’t be surprised when you are working by yourself on your shift either on men, woman side, or detox. That is very normal. I wish we had the man power to actually have good groups and fun activities all day long, but we don’t. So the clients have a lot of down time and get in their heads, which isn’t a good thing. I have voiced about setting up a garden for them to do or anything really. We offer fishing, but don’t really have the supplies for them to do so, so the techs tend to buy it for the clients. Some nurses there are just flat out rude to clients and other staff, and it’s no good to voice any of that because nothing gets done about it and they pretty much can say or do anything and they will always be the one in the “right” even when they are in the wrong. So that gets old. It gets old also when you voice something for the clients to better them, and it goes no where really. I get it that our hands are tied and we can’t do much. Your safety will fine. We have codes and are normally good at responding to them if heard over the walkie-talkies. We definitely won’t leave you stranded and will have your back. The food is amazing. If we could just up the budget and hire people and keep them, we would do a lot better. I know the company is very much capable to at least raise our pays to match the other locations that are near by, and if that happened, people wouldn’t be transferring to other locations. If some of the administration staff would actually listen to the employees about what is going on, that would also keep people as well. I have seen people come and go and it’s at the point that the ones who have been here a while wait at least a month to get to know the new person. Other than that, it is a great place to work. And a great stepping stone into the field of recovery.
This is a great working environment. They truly care about their employees and their patients. I get the opportunity to work and make a difference in the lives of our patients. We are like family here and if feel at home. I love my job!!!

The environment and company What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Residents and staff we diverse with culture, but the environment was not ideal definitely needs an up date. And the key principles of the program need to be re-evaluated. More structure for the pt’s and division of male and female need to be a priority
Pros: Coworkers were wonderful and management was good. Cons: The pay could have a lot better, and there could be a lack of guidence. Lack of organization is the biggest issue with this company.
