We all are just trying to survive. High turnover and always understaffed so it's extremely stressful.

When I fist started at Mission I was so excited to say that I worked for Mission Hospital. My "team" was like a family. Then we got a new CFO, and a new VP (very top heavy at Mission) and they pushed the old CEO out and we received a new one that now carries the title "Dr." with his name; however, he has NEVER practiced medicine a day in his life!! Supposedly a "great place to work" became horrendous. It is all about the numbers baby because Mission has acquired all of the smaller hospitals in the area and most of the physician practices. So... if you are PUSHED out of Mission and you try to find something else in Asheville or the surrounding area you will NEVER be successful. It is impossible.
Now, I am ashamed to say that I ever worked for Mission and that I wasted 11 years of my life on the this place. I valued the people I met along the way. But the top heaviness of Mission is smothering. No one can breathe, and everyone feels everyday like that day could be the last. It has become a sad place to work.

I interviewed through webex sessions and it was great. Since no video was required, when I was hired, my new co-workers did not even know what I looked like, and only had the expectation that I live up to my professionalism and the job I was hired to do. No opportunity to judge based on appearance or anything else.

It depends on where you work. I was quoted 16.50 when interviewed not including shift differentials, but after being hired and started working there they refused to pay that and said they made a mistake when they quoted pay and lowered it to 14.50 because I was not working in Asheville and was working in another city.
