The management is lacking and the benefits are state government benefits, so they are not too bad. The compensation as far as salary for what you do are sub-par. Missouri is ranked 50 out of 50 in government salaries, if that tells you anything. the work life is pretty good. I enjoy doing what I do and we have it in the government budget to improve and work with newer technology, so that is a plus.

The work fluctuates based on the changing needs of internal and external customers. It is important to be able to prioritize, flexible, polite and be organized. Depending on the area of government you are in, part of the challenges working for this organization are the personnel and philosophy changes that occur with elections. The benefits are competitive and the PTO is great especially if you have a family. The downside is you are likely to be paid less than the private sector for the same work.
