Overall good
Financial Analyst (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXDecember 12, 2018
The overall atmosphere is very good. My personal problem is the commute and the compensation. The management is very good, but due to several rounds of restructuring, it is very inconvenient.

Communication between managers and subordinates is lacking. Furthermore, the compensation is not reflective of the employee's responsibilities. Overall, disappointing for anyone that is looking for career growth and development.

Scrum Master (Current Employee) –  Saint Louis Park, MNSeptember 28, 2018
Moneygram overall is a great company but the leadership and management is poor. FPP needs to get rid of upper management to let the new/incoming employees give more perspective. Everyone here has been here for more than 20 years and is stuck in their ways.
Pros
parking ramp. easy to book a room for meetings
Cons
benefits, poor leadership, lack of organizational direction

Company without a strategy after blocked merger with Chinese firm
Corporate office employee (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXApril 25, 2018
A firm with great people in most of the teams, but unable to overcome ongoing reductions in business with largest customer and correct compliance issues leading firm to still be under monitor oversight following 2012 deferred prosecution agreement.
Pros
Good 401k match and market competitive salaries
Cons

This used to be a fun and innovative company. Now unfortunately its being run more like a sweatshop and the moral is very low.

Example: We had 4 CIO's in 6 years.

Sr. Support Analyst Level I - IV (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn Center, MNMarch 12, 2018
I worked at MoneyGram Payment Systems for many years and found it to be a rewarding job. They are tough on their employees at times but it's a financial company that is regulated by the government so some policies must be strict. MoneyGram staff does want you to succeed and will do its part to assist you with your career goals.
Pros
Advancement opportunities and great people!
Cons
MoneyGram's compensation is average or below average.

Great environment, going through a lot of change
ITIL Problem Process Owner (ITSM) (Current Employee) –  Saint Louis Park, MNJanuary 10, 2018
The atmosphere at MoneyGram is generally fun and friendly. MoneyGram is good at celebrating their employees. There seems to be a general issue in upper management, with a lot of in-fighting at that level. This trickles down to the lower levels, depleting their sense of purpose and accomplishment. At the end of the day, it's a nice place to work on the surface, but becomes frustrating over time.
Pros
Great employee culture, excellent compensation
Cons
Senior leadership is conflicted, making them unable to provide purpose and direction.

Senior Product and Solutions Manager (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXNovember 8, 2017
The hardest part of the job was obtaining the funding and resources to enhance, develop and complete a project.

Middle Management Leadership changes often,.

The most enjoyable part of the job is working with a group of hard working people that take pride in what they do and work towards quality output.
Pros
Working with good people, benefits are deceit, pay is good
Cons
Company in the mist of being purchased, middle management changes often

Stressful at times...
Manager, IT End User Support (Former Employee) –  St. Louis Park, MNSeptember 22, 2017
Pretty good company to work for. Strong senior leadership. Good communication of strategic goals from the top down. Work/Life balance is good, unless you're on-call. Due to staffing, some of the on-call rotations are frequent. Nice facilities and environment with modern meeting rooms, offices, work spaces, equipment, etc.
Pros
Overall good leaders and managers, competative pay, competitive benefits.
Cons
Lots of business units have moved from the Twin Cities to Dallas. Like a lot of comanies, they try to operate with as few employees as possible which is usually not enough.
