At least forty hours a week are expected. Often more hours are required to “get” the work done. Extra hours are required for some data analyses groups during harvest season in the Fall (no surprise for an agriculture company). In general Monsanto uses flex time wherein there are no fixed start and end times each day. The company observes fourteen days off, a chunk of which are the days between Christmas and New Years. Sometimes senior management will authorize an extra day or two during the year as a reward for the company doing well.
