Montessori Renaissance Academy is a private, non-profit Montessori school in Anoka, MN that has been providing children from 16 months through 8th grade with a quality Montessori education for more than 22 years. Formerly known as Minnesota Renaissance School, MRA officially began operating in August of 2017 when ownership of the school switched from a private owner to a community-run board of directors.
Our goal at Montessori Renaissance Academy is to create a learning environment that meets the needs of each child by following the philosophy and methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori method allows us to foster a child’s growth and independence, while teaching important academic lessons and tangible life skills.
Through a combination of positive social interaction and the successful manipulation of classroom materials the child learns to become self-motivated, independent and self-confident. With today’s technological society, individuals who have a well-rounded education, with a solid knowledge base, who have the ability to think creatively and solve problems, will be the most successful adults.
Montessori Renaissance Academy has been recognized by the Readers of Anoka County Shopper as the best Montessori school in Anoka County in 2018. The school is continuing to strive to exceed the high standards it has set in the past and provide an exceptional education to all of its students throughout their crucial years of development.
