Company is constantly changing management. Letting people go just to rehire to have them leave or quit. Training you better be able to do it in two days.

Leasing Agent (Former Employee) –  Athens, GAFebruary 6, 2018
Great company to work for. Working as a team and communication is key to any successful business. Would work there again in a heart beat. Every day was an adventure. This is not one of those jobs where you do the same thing day after day. So have a open mind and plan to be busy.
Pros
Meet amazing people

They have no clue
Manager (Former Employee) –  FloridaDecember 6, 2017
Started with this company when it was still a small company and it was awesome. All of a sudden they got a new CEO and the changes made it awful for the onsite employees. They transition every other month. New titles new people more task and none of it helps. They want to over charge the residents for everything then, the residents get mad at the onsite staff. They don't care about the people enough to even send them a gift card or thank you during the Holidays. Stay away I wish I did.

I have been an employee of Monument now for several months and I could not ask for better! I have been thoroughly impressed by most. I will say that corporate accounting needs to be revamped and policies and procedures need to be clearly set and followed by all.
Pros
Pay, team staff
Cons

Sad and disappointed. I was very confident that things were going well.
Regional Property Manager (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLNovember 23, 2017
When you have to cut employees I'm sure its not easy. Last hired first layed off Im sure is the easiest strategy. Trends were all positive, clients were all satisfied from the most recent team leader transition....Never forget that everyone is dispensable and that everyone needs to know your abilities and your work ethic and not just your immediate supervisor. I loved all the site team members and how hard they worked to accomplish the goals that were given to them under very trying circumstances.
Pros
Good Pay, Good site teams, Great potential for the company someday
Cons
To many conference calls and an uncomfortable "click"ish atmosphere at most levels of the company.

Greedy and Demanding
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) –  OhioOctober 19, 2017
It would be nice to just be able to do your job, but instead you are constantly trying to keep up with the demands and the reports, which takes away from customer service. They pay you well, but it's not worth the non-stop stress and constant deadlines. The corporate office obviously doesn't have constant interruption with clients coming in to interrupt them, but expect you to do as much work as they do WHILE constantly dealing with clients/tenants, etc.
Pros
Decent Pay
Cons
Too demanding and don't factor in that every community has different needs.

Coordinator (Former Employee) –  South CarolinaOctober 16, 2017
Even after hearing so much backlash against this management, I chose to give Monument a chance. Unfortunately all the backlash came to be true. Poor management; they continue to change things just to find their own footing but NOTHING seems to work for them. It could start with the lack of support from the higher up management to their employees. Expect, expect, expect- nothing in return, not even a "pat on the back." Granted, they have good commissions and pay. Just not worth being unhappy and stressed over a management that doesn't value the relationship with their employees.

If upper management doesn't like you, regardless of performance - you are out. Monument values are only lip-service that looks good on websites and sounds good at conferences. HR doesn't care either. Copied from another review because it hits it right on the nail. No matter what state you work in it applies.

Best thing about working for this company is that they choose to advance the staff that they currently have before looking for people that are outside of the company.

Fast growing company with a lot of opportunities. Bonuses are tied to performance as they would be with any company and the company rewards excellence. Monument also participates in the Monument cares program which serves community service projects in each market that they manage in. Awesome annual leadership conferences and outstanding leadership from C-level management.

Fast growing and a lot opportunity

Worst Company Ever
Assistant Property Manager (Former Employee) –  TexasJune 5, 2017
Do not work here. You can work your but off for them and its still not get enough. The only thing this company has going for them is the pay and have so many rules to qualify for that. Not a good company to have a career with. My regional is a jerk as well as the property manger. They will be quick to throw you under the bus to save their own.

Bonus if you qualify

Horrible company. They are not honest or forth right. They tell you one thing and then it's the opposite. They need to work on employment relationships. Yes the tenants are important but the staff is equally important.

Pathetic excuse of a company
Assistant Community Manager (Former Employee) –  Davie, FLMay 15, 2017
It's all politics. If you don't worship upper management, you won't survive. The regional managers destroy everything they touch and corporate turns a blind eye and just fires employee after employee to cover for their incompetent regional.

Turnover is through the roof, all of the properties are bleeding money and residents left and right. Vendors are pulling out due to the ridiculous wait times to get payments. Prior residents are constantly filing lawsuits regarding refunds.

The properties themselves are all garbage, i'm waiting for the day they start charging you for breathing within the community limits.
Pros
Some of the on-site staff are great workers and nice people, it's management that tanks this place.
Cons
horrible managers, condescending corporate staff, delusional property owners, lack of funds, high employee turn over

Staff changes are always happening. If they focused on employee retention as much as they do with renewals for resident. The company would be smooth sailing.

The management is ever changing. I've gone through four managers in eleven months. Nobody is on the same page and policies seem to change on a weekly basis. Nothing here is consistent or stable.

Miami wanna be "important" snobs
Property Management (Former Employee) –  FloridaJanuary 14, 2017
They took on a bunch of properties they couldn't handle and every thing got messed up. The HR as well as the entire corporate office is full of a bunch of people that don't know a thing about being on site. They think their better than everyone because they are Spanish miami women. They talk horribly about each other behind their back and point fingers at every turn. The higher ups have no idea what's going on with the company because they are too busy getting more properties that the company can't handle.
Bonus structure for Managers?? Hilarious. They don't tell you that there's a 100 part checklist you must complete and your employees before it's too late.
Pros
Great Bonus Structure for Leasing agents

Too many to list

Property Manager (Current Employee) –  Raeford, NCJanuary 9, 2017
The most important aspect of working for Monument Real Estate Services is that I have been made to feel as if my input is appreciated and that the employees are valued. Everyone from the corporate office that I interact with has had an amazing attitude. Opportunities are given to utilize your skills and experience in helping the company excel. This is a growing company that is embracing the positive aspects of change. The leaders in our organization positively impact the dynamics of developing a company culture that will continue to change the way our industry treats their employees and customers.
