Good residential HVAC Service Technicians are REALLY rare and hard to find! So, at Morris-Jenkins for the last several years we have been conducting HVAC training classes to build them from scratch; teaching Techs the right way, while avoiding the development of bad habits like cutting corners.
Tech Builder is a fast-paced 8-9 week paid training course, paying $14/hr, where technicians gain industry leading classroom education in conjunction with hands-on training while riding along with our experienced technicians. Tech Builder trainees soon become Maintenance Technicians, running maintenance calls upon completing the training course with related testing, and then receive a company van, gas card, cell phone, tablet PC, tools, and a bump in hourly pay to $15/hr along with additional performance-based pay. Hourly pay will gradually increase up to $17.50/hr after 16 months. The 1st year average annual compensation is typically $42-47k/yr, and as performance improves with experience, 2nd year averages are $47-52+k/yr, though some are over $60k/yr.
