It depends on the position. Sometimes, you may be extended an offer on-the-spot if the position is urgent and the hiring manager was "blown away" impressed, other times it could be 2-4 weeks of interviewing candidates, or even a couple months when hiring for our "Tech Builder" Training class to get through interviewing/testing as a funnel/sieve to select the top candidates.

Typically, you apply online to a specific job posting or will be contacted by the Recruiter for a 15-30 minute phone interview, then may be selected for an onsite interview with the hiring manager, and there may be a skills or aptitude test.

It really depends on the position, whether in the field, contact center, or office support. Field or contact center positions are likely to include rotational weekend coverage and may be scheduled for an assigned shift or based on time windows. We provide service to customers in the greater Charlotte metro area 7 days a week up until midnight, including holidays.

Thank you for applying online. The hiring process length varies by position based upon the volume of applicants per job. An experienced plumber may be hired within a couple days while for entry-level plumbing candidates it may be a few weeks. Please be patient. If you'd like to bring attention to yourself and increase your chance of being contacted for the next step, then please complete a one-way video interview from the link in the job posting and a personality survey from the link in the application confirmation email.

Yes. However, consideration eligibility is based upon the recency, severity, and nature of the crime committed. Additionally, court documentation, a character-witness recommendation, and/or other evidence to support rehabilitation or your story version may be required. For example, a theft-related felony conviction from 3 years ago would preclude a candidate from a job that involves going into customers' homes or working with credit cards.

Certainly! We've had several do so in the past and we've also had several Tech Builder graduates move into the warehouse too. Due to our rapid growth, each department has new roles frequently popping up. We hire for talent and culture fit, provide extensive training, and constantly strive to match up each unique individual to the position that best fits their strengths.

Unfortunately, we can't give you an exact answer. Maybe the same day you apply or maybe a few weeks from then. We receive hundreds and sometimes thousands of applications, depending on the job, and only the most impressive applicants fitting each job will receive a phone interview. Our recruiters have constantly changing priorities based upon business needs. However, if you take the time to complete a one-way video interview for the job you applied for, that will significantly increase the likelihood of receiving a prompt response.

Great question. Thanks for asking.
Most importantly, at Morris-Jenkins, our core values (honesty, integrity, fairness, and respect) and our core purpose (to make it easy for our customers to do business with us) guide everything we do. We try to have fun in everything we do, celebrate often, and meetings here tend to be a bit... different. Meetings may involve mullet wigs, costumes, water balloons, beach balls, corn-hole bags, footballs, golf putters, homegrown rap intro songs, trivia competitions, cash/prizes, etc. However, we are a performance-driven organization, so we do motivate generously with compensation and hold people accountable. We are a learning organization, so training & development are valued and encouraged. Things are constantly changing as we grow and improve. Each department has its own microculture, but that should sum it up as a whole.

In 2016, Morris-Jenkins was ranked #1 Top Workplace in the midsize category by the Charlotte Observer, based on voting by our employees.
