As a temp who has worked in many Mortenson Offices over the years I would suggest requiring all Office managers and staff members to undergo compassion training. Have them also understand, that when a temp employee is brought in it is so the entire office may benefit through production dollars and to treat them decently. A temp Hygienist/EDDA/assistant agreeing to work for your location means you don’t have to cancel and reschedule your patients, losing those production. Dollars for that department for an entire day. I have been mistreated many times and once was left in an empty office as soon as my last patient left. NO ONE stayed to help close down or lock up. I had to call Paul to let him know, “ummm they all just left. I can’t lock up because I don’t have a key and no one signed my time sheet.”
I had been mistreated by a few of the dentists and treated very well by most. I feel like some of the offices need to lose “it’s not my job” or “that’s not my department” mindset. It should be about teamwork; whether it’s with employed staff or temporary labor.
