Admissions Representative in Salem, VA

When I worked here, it was a true family atmosphere with everyone a team player. But within a 2 year span, the clinical director left, the CEO left, the UR director left, went through multiple Medical Directors, and could never keep a CFO. The only thing consistent was the admissions staff, and most of them left as well. It’s wasn’t bad when I was employed there, but it seems like they’ve not worked hard to keep their staff happy.

I worked with people that gave great support to each other. We worked as a team. They have an open door policy. Management is supportive and fair.

If you're in it to help others, then this is the place to do it. That's only redeeming quality about this job. But you won't have anyone helping you. The rest of the processes are all about business. Their big focus is about money. They want more people in their facility but refuse to be in-network with Medicaid. Leadership is as cold as ice. The turnover is outrageous and staff is constantly changing. The benefits are so-so.There's really poor separation between work/life balance. They've constantly been understaffed and they expect you to volunteer at every turn. Some people don't want to be at their job for 60+ hours a week.

This place is a soap opera all it's own from nursing right on up to senior management.
Counselor in Salem, VA

Most of my colleagues are interviewing or considering applying for employment somewhere else. The new director has changed the environment for most employees and patients. Most days are spent blowing out fires that are created because of the director. I use to really enjoy being here... but if you ask anyone who is honest, most people are very unhappy here.
