Good place if you want a dead-end job

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Have no ambition and want to work like an obedient underpaid dog? Say less and work for this company. Coworkers are all snitches, supervisors and managers have favorites, productivity numbers mean nothing, and 18 year old kids with no education are valued the same as people with degrees in their 30s and 40s.

Pros

Free food sometimes

Cons

No texting outside of 15 minute breaks or lunch, low pay

Awesome work Place with great co-workers

Was a little nervous at first about getting into the corporate world but Mouser opened me with welcoming arms, great place to work with lots of opportunity to grow!

It's fun if you have...

The rules for productivity is ridiculous and if you give adequate time for leaving the company....they will not pay you what they owe you. If you like sitting behind a desk all day, this is a job for you.

Pros

Working under an awesome manager, their giveaways

Cons

Productivity goals are ridiculous. They let you know if you "aren't fit" for the team, A Lot of favoritism

Stagation. No Communication. Favoritism. Micromanagement.

These are just a few words I would use to describe what is this toxic work environment. I slaved away for this company for 3 years and within those 3 years I saw a complete negligence for the people who actually put in the work to keep the company running. Unless you are planning to kiss up to the top, this is not a company that recognizes hard work. In my time I was lied to, told I was going to get earlier hours and battled for almost 2 years just to get off night shift. Was told time and time again it was coming. Never happened. They tried to coax me into other positions and look down on you if it wasn't the path you were wanting to take. I cannot say enough how much better my mental health, pay, benefits, and so many other things have been since leaving this company and finding new employment. Definitely better places to work.

Pros

Very little. Set schedules?

Cons

No real work culture, no connections outside work, favoritism, low pay, micromanagement, and very little room for career growth

Stable, but stagnant

It's a stable place to work. However, don't expect advancement unless you're apart of the right cliques. Employee appreciation events were nice. thank you.

Okay place to work. Favorites are played for sure. Before covid, there were office lunch days and fun events. I just didn’t agree with how things were treated. I worked my butt off and if management liked you, you got special treatment.

Overall this was a great place to work

OverallMy experience working at Mouser Electronics was great. The job itself was boring, but there was always something exciting going on to keep you engaged. The environment was awesome. The CEO, coworkers, & management were really nice people.

They are invested in helping employees grow internally in the company

I started off as a customer service assistant (data entry) and after a month of training and a month and a half on the floor, I got promoted to a customer service representative. I was assigned to a team who was helpful as I was adjusting to the position. My manager saw my potential and asked me what I wanted to be in the company so he could guide me in the right direction. The company held multiple events to acknowledge and appreciate all their employees by having food days and etc. I loved working at Mouser. If I did not have the need to move to a different state, I would still be working in the company.

Pros

Employee Appreciation, Food Days, Helpful and Approachable Leaders

Not so bad

I was here about a year. It's a call center, so there will be stress. Management was nice and helpful, co-workers are welcoming. Fast paced most days.

Pros

Bonus, free food, Pto

Cons

Pay could be better

"don't say bullying because I take that word very seriously"

I found myself questioning my sanity, my strength and my worthiness to live and breathe ... again. >"Bullying" you, the director of customer service, told me that I was not enough when bringing forth the issue you were having amongst your employees on the sales floor of 'the corporate office' out of 27 locations all over the world. It took a lot for me to speak up for myself that day, just to be told "you're not enough". >"Bullying" you, human resources of customer service, told me that because they didn't use my name or address me directly then there wasn't a problem. I couldn’t believe it and neither could my family so I played the audio recordings of those 3 meetings I had with Human Resources. I couldn’t believe a “reputable” company like Mouser Electronics had a “bullying” problem. I no longer work with Mouser Electronics and it's too bad because not only could I do the job, I loved it too! Unfortunately I have battles outside of those walls & I know my limits so I took the loss and took 1 step back instead of 2. However, I do hope someone will step up and advocate for those who, like me, are not capable of speaking up for themselves for fear of what the outcome could be, this just wasn’t my fight.

Mouser's Management Team has a High School mentality

The managers would treat you as if you were a herd of cattle. If they disliked you for any reason it brought back the high school bullying effect. Its was very pretty how the managers would treat employees. They don't provided much help if you're not in with the popular management.

Good place to work

good place to start career if you wanted to go to another company. management needed improvement when I left and pay needed to be increased as it was on the low end to support yourself and family

Decent/Temporary

Not bad for a young person looking for experience but to advance quickly based off of skill is tough. Promoting is based off of a managers approval. It’s more of a wait your turn rather than you’ve earned it type of place.

Pros

Events often

Cons

Limited breaks, late shifts, parking in grass

too many cons

Lack of advancement opportunities. Lack of communication. Always eager yo tell you when you scree up but never if you do good. Only allowed to park in a certain area unless you're upper management then you get to park in the front parking lot.

Pros

onsite gym

Cons

eat too much. hours are terrible

Favoritism,no clear policies posted, no bonuses,

This company has many cons. There is much favoritism. Employees that have worked there for many years are promoted with not much knowledge of what they are going into...

Pros

free food

Cons

too many

Not recommended

Advancement is usually those who have bachelor degrees Pay raises are not guaranteed with high level performance reviews Management is awful, they need to be better trained to be managers It's not uncommon for the environment to be hostile for working conditions Compensation is low due to its location and competitors Hr is not there for the employees Be sure everything is documented

Pros

special events, free lunches for employee appreciation and free gifts from vendors on the sales team, one hour lunch breaks, location

Cons

management, Hr, micromanaged work, gossip, massive workloads and unrealistic expectations of entry level employees, rarely get pay increases, only the favorites get promoted

Good company to work for with solid benefits and a team environment.

1. I currently work 5 days a week for 5 hours each day. My job responsibility is to input incoming Purchase Orders via a queue system. Mouser prides themselves on accuracy and quick turnaround time to expedite the order. 2. I have gained knowledge regarding the policy and procedures of a manufacturer distributor. 3. The management team at Mouser is held in high regard and their positions are attainable if you so desire to pursue that avenue. 4. An average day at Mouser is always busy with each department and employees tasked to the best of their abilities. 5. The hardest part of the job is not necessarily hard but you must keep your productivity at a particular goal as with some days it is more difficult than others. 6. My team and others relating to my team are professional and motivational to all.

Pros

Frequently lunch & snacks, often there are departmental functions to thank us for our contributions.

Cons

Having a part time position does not entitle me to benefits.

Unprofessional Environment

High School all over again! It is a shame that management and hr turns their head to libelous and cruel treatment to people they deem as not as important. I thoroughly agree with the other posts....if you are not a favorite, management will treat you poorly. Abusive, demeaning and blatant disregard from direct supervisor/manager regarding people's feelings.

Pros

Social Events

Cons

Unprofessional Management with High School Mentality

It was very relaxed and people treated you like family

I actually loved working here, people are very nice and friendly. I felt like I was accepted as one of their own on my first day. I would totally recommend this job to anyone

Pros

Everything

Cons

Short breaks at times

Fun and Easy Job

Besides being VERY cold some days this has been an amazing job to have. The coworkers and managers are almost all very friendly and helpful. Also, I have received discounts on several electronic items which has been beneficial.

You only succeed here if you are a manager's favorite

It's typical date entry and an easy job. The co workers can cause drama and the Manager's are worse. They let their favorites slack off and the rest of us have to take on the pace. Manager was very unprofessional.

Pros

Easy Job

Cons

Manager's play favorites
