So-So
SERVER (Former Employee) –  Exton, PAJune 5, 2018
Not a bad job to have. The fact you get to watch free movies pretty much sells itself. Depending on the manager you have of the 5, things can go pretty well, however, some managers do not mesh well with others. The work hours are longs, but so are other serving jobs. The company has a lot going for it but needs to work out kinks. The turnover rate is awful due to the fact they don't honor availability or time-off requests. Always short staffed so prepare to work. In other words get in and fit in the best you can, if you don't make friends you don't get hours. Can be a very stressful environment.
Pros
Free Movies, Discount Food, Early Showings of movies
Cons
Don't work with schedule, TurnOver Rate, Hard to Deal with at time.

Not The Job For Everyone
Manager (Current Employee) –  Aurora, COJune 2, 2018
Stressful and demanding, but can be very rewarding with the right team. Be able to take some direction and run with it, all while running the day-to-day of a large capacity restaurant and bar.
Pros
Free movies and food, challenging enviroment
Cons
Little time for a social life

Not a bad starter job
Food Runner (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXMay 31, 2018
I thoroughly enjoyed working for Movie Tavern. Honestly, the only reason why I quit was because I moved out of the area and had no transportation at the time to continue my employment. While the money isn't as high as one would like, the environment itself is very nice and is a good starter job. I started out as a food runner and ended up assisting servers during busy days/when systems were moving slow, as well as, assisting with the ticket booth.
Pros
free movies, discounts, free popcorn
Cons
not a high enough pay, always on feet

Movie Tavern is fast paced, easy but hard work at the same time. Management is fun and very helpful. Movie Tavern is really big on teamwork. Able to move up semi quickly.

Fun but chaotic work atmosphere. Free movie benefit, but harassing management and lack of communication makes it not worth it. Promotes from within but has lower than average compensation.
Pros
Free movies
Cons
poor management

Can have busy work Environment
Server (Former Employee) –  Exton, PAMay 11, 2018
Working here your day can be very busy or slow depending on your position and the number of tickets sold during your shift. The good thing is time usually move pretty quickly while working but shifts still can be long.

An Adequate Summer Job
Box Office Attendant, Food Runner, and Server (Current Employee) –  Collegeville, PAMay 8, 2018
A fine place to work as a temporary summer job. Although serving and food running can be fast paced and slightly stressful, both positions help to hone your communication skills.

Corporate and Operational Differences
Training Manager (Current Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXMay 3, 2018
Great company to initially work for. Promotion from within is evident considering 90% of all salaried management was once an hourly employee. Further development is minimal. Corporate barely develops anyone from within. Would rather outside hire without cultural knowledge of the organization.

Shift Leader (Former Employee) –  Denham Springs, LAApril 26, 2018
A typical day at work was really busy, prepping, delegating, and ensuring the our employees were well prepared for the business day ahead of them. Customer satisfaction is main goal, so we prepare the employees to be able to deliver that.
Pros
Good team, work environment

Managers not following the rules they implement

Line Cook/Prep Cook (Former Employee) –  Collegeville, PAApril 23, 2018
The job was good, til the favouritism started. Because of certain people taking shift runner position. And paid me less than promised. I was promised a raise of 12 dollars/hr and only paid 11 on paper.
Pros
Free meal, free movies, good hours
Cons
Favouritism, pay issues

Cook (Current Employee) –  Collegeville, PAApril 20, 2018
Terrible management. Full of favoritism. Completely selective about who the rules apply to. Cruel shift runners if you aren't in the clique. Just awful.

Not fun to be at
Food Runner/Expo (Former Employee) –  Roswell, GAApril 20, 2018
I really disliked working at Movie Tavern, because management was horrible, and you had to bring in a doctors note if you missed your shift. Dreaded going to work everyday, and did not get paid enough at all. Had to buy our food if we wanted to eat. Managers had their favorite employees and if you weren't one of their favorites, then work is going to be horrible.

Fun if you like watching movies
Runner/Busser (Current Employee) –  Flourtown, PAApril 16, 2018
Its the best when you get to watch the movies that come out for free. The food discount is 50% off as well, but other than that when it is busy it is a hard day.
