The comradery is what stands out about this company.
Team work and safety are the most important adopted cultures of this company. As part of management the hardest part of the job is managing the different personalities of the men and women that report for duty everyday that can be challenging as well as rewarding.
The most enjoyable part of this job is being able to complete the task in a safe and timely manner

Nice gig but always watch your back.
Great career and somewhat of a family like culture at MTA. Except when you make a minor mistake. Any minor and/or major mistakes and you'll be looking for a job very soon.
The best jobs are for electricians, cleaners, station agents or any job not involving trains or buses. Train and bus operators make good money and love their jobs/careers. But these jobs have you on the chopping block.

The agency is currently going through a transformation thus progress with projects may be slower then usual.
Second level support for the provisioning department. Handle hot items that need to be addressed immediately. Address union members that have issues in the workplace.

From time to time work late and weekends.

Management is sight unseen. The hardest part of the job is the time it takes to get things done. The culture is very laid back because the company offers no incentives to suggest otherwise.

The most enjoyable part of my job is help people, members and clients every day.

Good place to work. The pay is fair and the benefits are some of the best.

It's a city job but there are some interesting people you'll meet. There's also opportunities for growth.

Good job in the beginning towards the end the became like a corporation, they forgot about people
I loved this job , but after 28 years it’s time to move on. Any complaints you gets puts your job in jeopardy. It’s a good job but I’m retiring and I want to do something else with my life.

Dedication to the public
NYCT employees are genuinely dedicated to serving the public, whether is rain, sleet or flood. No matter how we feel 95% of us manage to get to work on time and go above and beyond what our title is. And contrary to popular belief, there are times we dont get proper financial compensation. Bad part is that management always takes the public's side first before knowing all the fact. With that most times innocent employees are penalized for things that were never done.

Must live in city to sustain job in beginning
Good job if you live in NYC. First few years, your start time varies every week and you only get a two day out schedule at a time. The Job requires you to follow specific rules but management will tell you to work a different way in order to keep up with reality. Management is the worst at this job. No one in management cares about you at all and I really mean that.
