Detention Officer (Current Employee) –  Livingston, TXNovember 17, 2018
Job runs on a favoritism scale, if you aren't in the top, you won't get there. Just give up now. You will be stuck working in the same spots every shift, even people who work there for years never seem to be able to get better positions.
Pros
Coworkers are cool.
Cons
Everything else sucks.

Maintenance Intern (Former Employee) –  Riverton, WYApril 5, 2018
No benefits and treated as if you're unwanted by management. Internship does not allow a chance at job advancement in the company and are treated as if they are community service workers

Stressful place to work
LVN (Former Employee) –  Calexico, CAMarch 27, 2018
At first sight it is a clean and perfect place to work, then it became every day stressful and overwhelming. Sargent's and Lieutenant's flirting with nurses, some medical officers that didn't do their jobs but some others are really good!
Pros
Good friends
Cons
Bad benefits and horrible 401k

Working at MTC was fine.
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER (Former Employee) –  Diboll, TXOctober 21, 2017
It was fine working at MTC, I do feel they advanced certain people that should not have been advanced in management. Most of the people were great to work with. A day at work was clock in, morning meeting, go to the pods you work and start going thru cells and looking for contraband.
Pros
Most of the people
Cons
Management making a difference between officers.

None (Current Employee) –  Calexico, CAAugust 16, 2017
I have friends that have worked there and some that still do. Typical shifts are 12hrs like an E.R. dealing with visits and referring emergencies to the local hospital.

Atlanta Job Corps Center
Procurement Officer (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAAugust 13, 2017
I would for MTC/Atlanta Job Corps Center. A typical day at work includes several meeting with the F&A Director, responding to emails, placing web based orders, reviewing contract files, posting RFQ for solicitation, etc.. I learned the management of a Purchasing Department and when available the supervision of employees. Part of my job is also to study the Federal Acquisition Regulations(FAR) and addendums. The workplace culture is inclusive of student activity and success. The hardest part of the job is managing the workload and prioritizing to ensure all department orders are processed timely. I enjoy engaging with the student.
Pros
Teamwork
Cons
Lack of growth opportunities

Worse Company I have ever worked for.
RN Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Taft, CAFebruary 19, 2017
The staff at the facility that I worked for was great. I couldn't ask for a better team. The Corporate Medical Department isn't s wonderful as they would like you think. The benefits are bad, they don't care about the employ at all. I am curious to see if the Medical Director is still trying to dictate to the field Doctors how to practice medicine. If you love the medical field and love helping people stay away from this company.

Poor leadership poor direction
Medical employee at Job Corp (Former Employee) –  KentuckyOctober 12, 2016
I worked for this company for 6 years and they often don't follow through with their role. The morale of their company is low. They expect more work adding job responsibilities every year with little compensation and raises. They allow people to be put in positions that are not qualified which makes for poor operations. They don't make the employees feel like they are professional, considered, or valued. They allow unethical things to take place and they support administration who is inefficient.
Pros
The students
Cons
The system failure
