SAE (Former Employee) –  Boston, MAJanuary 17, 2018
Great place to work but structure can be difficult for those who aren't great at being a self-starter. Can be tough to work there if you aren't on one of the larger/splashier accounts.

People are very concerned with their own well-being
Digital Media Planner (Former Employee) –  Boston, MANovember 20, 2017
Not a great work culture. Everyone is caught up in their own work and advancement, and little attention is given to the team environment. Management doesn't like to work directly with entry level members of the team

SVP, Group Account Director PR/Social (Former Employee) –  Boston, MA and NYCNovember 10, 2017
A global creative agency. If you enjoy breakneck, strategically grounded work, it's awesome. That said, once you break into the upper ranks, the ability to self-direct and blaze your own trail becomes limited.

A tough workplace in transition
Senior Art Director (Former Employee) –  Boston, MASeptember 14, 2017
Mullen will push you to do amazing work, excellent creative, and find more opportunities in small problems than you may have thought possible. How? Because the good opportunities and projects are rare, so you need to make the best of everything. Inventing projects to get the agency credibility is cheered, leaving before 7 is frowned upon.
Pros
Nice pay for mid-level, good people who try hard
Cons
work-life balance worst I've ever worked at, opportunities limited

The culture is buzzing, youthful, creative and inspiring but the work/life balance could use improvement. Location in Boston's financial district is ideal.

Productive, Fast-Paced Work Environment with Great People
Assistant Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Boston, MAFebruary 8, 2017
At Mullen, every day presented a new challenge. I learned how to multi-task, become a detail oriented person and most importantly that communication is one of the most important things within an agency.
The workplace culture is fast-paced and can be stressful at times but the people at Mullen make it worth while. The hardest part of the job is staying on top of everything and knowing how to deal with problems when they come up. Occasionally the work-life balance can be a bit hard to manage. The most enjoyable part of the job, was seeing the advertising come to life and knowing that you were part of that process.
Pros
Free Lunches, Great People, Fun Environment
Cons
Not paid for overtime, long hours occasionally

Overall Good Place to work
Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Winston-Salem, NCOctober 28, 2016
Good company, some positions are more respected than others. Extended work hours required only when necessary. Not a lot of room for advancement currently within the company.

Media Planning (Mediahub) Intern (Former Employee) –  Boston, MAAugust 27, 2016
It was a lot of fun working on different activities in Mediahub. I also got a chance to work on a group project with four other interns from different departments and we built a marketing campaign. Very friendly people to work with and the place has got a great vibe! The new President is a gem of a person.

Mullen is a start up company
Director of Battery research and development (Current Employee) –  La Habra, CAJuly 20, 2016
Mullen is trying to revive the CODA automobile. The CODA is a car with all the quality China is know to have. The car is fun to drive, but prone to small issues.

Mullen is also importing other Chinese automobiles. They seem to have high quality than the CODA.

I really would like to focus on engineering work.

Bad Working Environment
Previous Employee (Former Employee) –  Winston-Salem, NCMay 4, 2016
They have a lot of job postings which means high employee turn around. Open work environment where groups of people are forced to work side by side at long tables in a renovated factory. To be able to focus on your job responsibilities wearing noise canceling headphones is a must or ear buds for music. Visitors and agency tours are a constant interruption due to the open floor plan. There are eye appealing perks that the agency provides but appearances can be deceiving. Leadership/management varies greatly depending on the department that you are hired. Job training and opportunities for advancement are minimal. Salary increases are not an option. Feedback from management is vague which provides no direction. Meetings are scheduled last minute so there is no time to prepare. Location of the agency also leads to parking issues, employee parking is not appealing at all. The walk from the car to your desk can be considered a commute which takes approximately 20 minutes or more depending on the time that you get to work and the weather. Plan for extra time to walk if the weather is bad. Places to grab lunch are also scarce, bringing lunch and snacks from home is the best option. The few places to eat are overpriced and the food is not very good. Food trucks are basically it. Mullen is a good place to work if you are only looking for short term employment and experience.
Pros
Barista coffee bar, ping pong table, pool table
Cons
Location, work environment, job security, training, leadership, salary

Production
Assistant Producer (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAJanuary 8, 2016
Over the past two years in the Broadcast Production Department I have worked with a wide range of brands. I’ve independently produced radio and live action spots, as well as, assisted on productions. I've become familiar with vendor reps, researching directors, editorial vendors, production companies, original and stock music vendors, casting agencies, and post houses. I’ve managed and maintained production calendars and budgets.
