Contractor (Former Employee) – Pentagon, DC – May 4, 2016
Overall great company, the hardest part is something you cannot control and that is awaiting federal government decision on annual contracts. You work hard for the duration of contract with the knowledge that you can be out of work at the end of that contract.
Freelance 3D Modeler (Former Employee) – Portsmouth, VA – January 17, 2016
I only had a short contract with this studio but I have to say that i enjoyed every minute of it. The studio manager was very knowledgeable and fantastic to work with. The administative side of the studio was also very pleasant to deal with when finalizing the contract and receiving payment.
Takes net 30 days to get payed once you submit invoice
Facility Security Officer (Former Employee) – Portsmouth, VA – November 6, 2015
Good starting point for individuals just out of school but for career minded individuals I would not recommend. The company lacks strong leadership within the management department and the owners have no appreciation or consideration for the employees. The environment is toxic. They hire/fire on a whim.
Staff Accountant (Former Employee) – Portsmouth, VA – September 22, 2015
MYMIC was such a great place to work at. It was easy to get along with most people and even better working with them. I could honestly say it was an honor working with my supervisor; a capable leader who does business with honesty and integrity and is also understanding of the employees needs. The most difficult part while working at MYMIC was getting through the hardships that arose. There were also a few individuals who were difficult to deal with, but overall, a very good place to work at.
Productive and fun work place with great coworkers
IT Security Officer (ITSO) (Former Employee) – Arlington, Va – September 15, 2015
A great place to work, coworkers and cohorts collaborate to create a supportive workplace which encourages innovation, creativity, respect and trust of others through and uncompromising integrity and openness.
Management (Former Employee) – Portsmouth, VA – June 30, 2014
A typical day at work depended on your department assignment and specific job but most days are spent in front of a computer screen working email or MS Office. Meetings are a favorite past time, unfortunately, they rarely provide much value. Management has high expectations without supportable reason. Resourcing is poor and employees are encouraged to "do more" which is conveniently undefined as to what "do more" specifically means. Most employees are good people and easy to get along with. The hardest part of working there is keeping up with the changing desires of leadership and with the constant change in personnel. People are hired for no apparent reason other than the latest leadership whim, and then let go when their collective interest or focus shifts, often for no apparent reason. I enjoyed working in a team environment to solve complex problems..
Work life balance is generally good.
Toxic work environment with no identifiable goals or leadership support.
