They can't get out of their own way and I don't think they want to
Specialist (Current Employee) –  Winooski, VTJune 6, 2018
Mywebgrocer is a failing local business that has been taken over by the majority invester - HGGC. Many of the original people who made the company what it was during its successful time period have left. There is a huge knowledge gap in all departments now and remaining people are burnt out. What leadership doesn't understand is that they continue to promote horrible managers, directors and VPs. Most of these people don't have the personalities, skills or integrity to be in the roles they are in to keep qualified team members happy. These managers are toxic and manipulative and their best employees are leaving in droves.

MWG is in such flux that there are people on the payroll to just stay positive. Frequent surveys are sent out to employees and no one is listening or providing a feedback loop. In order to be successful, the next time I receive a survey, I will write what I don't want to happen and leadership will probably do the opposite. This should get the results all the "workers" are looking for. I believe that one of their 2018 goals is to have an attrition rate so high in Winooski, that they never have to disclose layoffs or pay for unemployment etc. Most of the new hires are being hired in Ireland.

In order to stay in the game that they were once ahead in, MWG needs to devlop and sell a product that can be implemented in a timely and inexpensive way. The company took a wrong turn about 2 years ago and they have been paying for it ever since. Upset customers, employees leaving, old hardware, constant outages and no vision or business model to follow. I'm not
more... sure if there is anything that can be done at this point in time. It's a sad situation and everyone including leadership is now setup to fail. I would be surprised if MWG Winooski is around in 2020.  less
Pros
updated office space, game room, yoga at a reduced rate, flexibility depending on what time you're on, parking garage
Cons
Poor leadership and entitled management, no accountability or ownership, low morale, high burnout and attrition, HR dept is useless, having trouble recruiting, new open desk space, old boys club, no transparency or communication, no VISION

Not the place to be. Read Glassdoor reviews
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Winooski, VTMay 31, 2018
Over 4 years ago, MWG was a great place to work. Now, it's the last place anyone wants to be. Attrition is bad, management is horrible and their is no strategy or vision for the company in Winooski. The changes that have taken place in the last 8 months are hurting the local economy/vibe. The directors, VPs and above lack integrity, accountability and act like they are above everyone else. Surveys are sent out, but no one is listening. How long do the good employees have to wait for positive change? At the very best, MWG will be around for another 18 months in Vermont. (honest guess)
Pros
Nice location, nice office space (minus the new open table layout), committed workers on the front line, Yoga classes in the mill
Cons
Poor Management, No Leadership or vision, No transparency, Poor coomunication, constant outages, burning start performers out, attrition rate is 29%, Jobs are going to Ireland, No product to sell, customers are leaving and the ones that remain are angry

Great atmosphere
Digital Media Strategist (Former Employee) –  Winooski, VTFebruary 6, 2018
Overall people are really relaxed and care about you and your personal advancement. If you do well they do well and they really do their best to make sure everyone succeeds. Lots of fun company events and the individual teams all work together to have a great time, while getting the work done.

Overall a great place to be around
Associate Media Planner/Buyer (Current Employee) –  Winooski, VTJuly 19, 2016
The overall atmosphere is great, everyone is laid back and sociable, though management isn't exactly ideal. After being hired, I was put on an island from management and was practically ignored for months on end. I wouldn't necessarily blame the company as the Vermont office had nothing to do with that.
Pros
Relaxed environment
Cons
Ignored by management
