Natera recognizes that hard work is important, but that family and personal time is equally important. My regional manager trusts his sales reps to manage their territory effectively.

Great place to work they fed us three times a week provided healthy snacks the people were really nice the mangers were extremely nice I love this place . The location was not far form my house . The training was great. I wish I could have retired from here but business decision made it impossible to do so. They stand for something positive by helping families.

Difficult to grow
Acting Supervisor (Current Employee) –  San Carlos, CAMarch 22, 2019
This company does not promote people from within often. They would ask many employees from within to apply; however, people gets hire from outside at the end. It is difficult to have work life balance in certain department.

Unfair treatment
RUNNER (Former Employee) –  San Carlos, CAMarch 14, 2019
Can you believe you can be write up while you are on training with natera? Believe it or not YES you can. they expect you to know everything such as all the rules on the production lab as soon as you ;start working in the lab. They have hundreds of rules they tell you about before you start and you have to remember them all the next day, otherwise you will be given a corrective action right there.
big politics too, ive seen so many new hire and doesnt come back the next day due to politics this is why they are hiring so badly to fill this positions...DO NOT APPLY OR WORK AT NATERA..
Pros
Free lunch

Bad supervisors

Tier 3 Tech Support (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXFebruary 11, 2019
Aside from catered food three times a week there was no benefit. You work with children who do not know how to have an adult job. There wasn't a fair compensation plan and the only way to make money is to work overtime every single week.

Great first job but leaves much to be desired
Clinical Laboratory Associate (Current Employee) –  San Carlos, CAFebruary 11, 2019
My overall impression of working at Natera is that it is a great place to work if you do not work in the production labs. This was my first employment opportunity in my field. As far as first-time jobs go, this is the perfect place to work. You work closely with Clinical Laboratory Scientists and are able to learn much from them. You get to learn some laboratory techniques, and you learn how to properly handle human specimens. However, this is not the type of role in which you are able to grow and develop into a fully fleshed out career. Management also leaves a lot to be desired. The hours are also not ideal. Most people start off working third shift during weekends. Getting a shift that is not on the weekends is nearly impossible, as is getting off third shift. The work culture very much so discourages individual thought, only those who never have differing opinions move up. Overall this job is a stepping stone to your next destination and it is treated as such.

BEWARE: Track Record of Management harrasment, bullying and continual uncertainty in commission- WORST COMPANY ETHICS EVER
Sales (Current Employee) –  San Carlos, CADecember 8, 2018
If understanding your compensation goals is important to you and you are used to structure and organization, this is NOT a company for you.

If you have ethics regarding billing practices, this is not a company for you as 50 shades of grey is not enough to cover the levels they create to segment their shady practices in the name of creativity (all the while pointing fingers at others) If you have ethics at all, you will probably have moments of feeling uncomfortable inside ... that is your conscience telling you to RUN!!!

If you enjoy being spoken down to by people who fly by the seat of their pants and confuse their stock profits with their IQ points as ego maniac narcissists, then sign a contract for 25-50k less than their competitors pay and enjoy the ride!!

But if you choose to work for this pretend science company, ruining your career credibility, I must ask you....What else do you like??? Getting mugged?? It’s the same sensation..

Work somewhere they appreciate you more like a maximum security prison or a middle school...

PS. Beware of the sponsored “fake reviews” to counter actual employee reviews... they are not hard to spot as the only thing missing in the pros are the Unicorn rides and free puppies
Pros
They let you see your family on the weekends (do it while you still have one)
Cons
Management has zero managerial expertise, think Jersey shore then dumb it down

Positive Experience
Insurance Billing Specialist (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXDecember 4, 2018
Overall, working for Natera has been a positive experience. The company provides good benefits, stock options, health care, and catered lunch 3x out of the week.

Cons include, management is poor. It is difficult to advance within the company and the team leads never have a straight answer.

Good and fun place to work
Clinical Data Operator (Former Employee) –  San Carlos, CANovember 26, 2018
This place was over all good working environment you get to meet new people and have free lunches 3 times a week over all a good fun place to work at. They even try to have bbq’s for the new bee’s to get to know each other a little bit about them (when there done with there work). They provide lockers for your belongings because they don’t want no drinks or food in the lab. Managment is okay and they try there hardest to work with those who struggle but in the end, people end up leaving or they just work for a day and you don’t see them again the next day. This a good start up and you can grow with in the company but that’s up to management if they want to promote you or transfer you.
Pros
Managment kinda weak
Cons
Good benefits, free lunches

The office reflects diversity, opportunities to do volunteer work, free meals M-W-F, snacks & drinks, opportunities to work remotely, and the ability to cross train and learn new things.
Pros
Ability to cross train, use sound judgement, flexible scheduling, and free meals.
Cons
Does not appear to be a lot of opportunities of advancement.

Too many meetings, tracking everything done constantly updated action items to track how many issues resolved. Having to meet in specific time period
Senior Benefits Administrator (Current Employee) –  San Carlos, CANovember 3, 2018
Everything done has to be tracked in one system or spreadsheet. Each month there is a report on what work was completed and did it come in on time, one day, three day or five days anything over 5 days is late and is held again your score.

HR is run like a production department. There is no work life balance you take work home every day and weekends
Manager has to make edits no matter how small the editing and no communication can be sent out withour her OK

Great Company
Quality Control Research Associate (Former Employee) –  San Carlos, CAOctober 19, 2018
Great company and great culture. Natera invests in their people, new technology and room for growth. The people there make you feel like family and really awesome in collaborating with people outside of your assigned work. You are able to work with different people and everyone is willing to help.

Insurance Billing Specialist (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXOctober 10, 2018
The company is relatively young and is still finding its feet, as a result the insurance billing is beyond chaotic. The management is inexperienced and quality assurance is arbitrary. Working here is extremely stressful and unfulfilling and you will be stuck in your current position because of a lack of upward mobility. If you need a job to make the rent or gain experience fine, but this is not a long term job goal and the company is not even profitable yet. You do not receive a cost of living increase and I have been here 3 years and my only raise been less than a dollar.
Pros
free lunches and great benefits
Cons
low wages and ineffective management

Senior Clinical Field Specialist - Reading (Current Employee) –  San Carlos, CAJuly 22, 2018
Natera is a high energy work environment with a very technology savvy sales support team. For a smaller size company, the training and resources that support the Clinical Sales team are impressive. Sales of genetic testing is competitive, and there are many moving parts, which I thrive on. The management team, especially my direct manager is knowledgeable, and helps support reps. However, there is substantial turnover and territory boundaries are not clear. Natera is a leader in their space and I fully believe in their products. They are still going through some growing pains as a newer company, but I believe they are on the right track. The ability and autonomy to make business decisions and drive sales is the best part of the job.
