What is the most stressful part about working at National Captioning Institute?
Regular on-air assessments require your caption quality meet NCI/FCC standards, and you are not warned ahead of time about when the assessments will be. Also, on-air time can be on the heavy side on busy days.
A fair amount. As a Voice Writer, you will need to incorporate typing into your real-time captions, so speed and accuracy is critical.
I do not live in CA or VA... Can I still apply for this job as a possible work from home position?
New employees are expected to come into one of the two offices for training. There are rare opportunities to work remote from the start, but you must have previous experience as a real-time captioner.
