The organization really cares about their employees as people. The leadership is always looking to improve and genuinely cares about their staff and the community it serves.

This place exists for the financial benefit of the executive leadership
case manager (Former Employee) –  Mid cityMarch 10, 2019
Unfortunately, the management has no understanding of what working with the Homeless is really like. The decisions they make are arbitrary and ill informed. For example, they actually requested the employees (Master's level Social Workers,) move out office furniture and put together new furniture from IKEA. They actually remodeled the offices while we were working in them with clients.
They continually violate HIPPA and other healthcare regulations. The executive management here seem to be the only permanent employees here. The upper management pays no attention to employee recommendations and doesn't seem to see any need to keep employees there after they've become experienced.

This company will expect you to take responsibility for their mistakes and then fire you for some small slight. Beware!

Stay away!
Social Worker (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CADecember 13, 2018
I'm serious! Stay. Away.
This organization has no idea what they are doing, they are cut throat, & they lie to their employees.
They have favorites and will turn on you if you don't fit their "mold."

This is at the expense of their clients which they have put a dollar sign on. I do not agree with their business practices and their mission is a joke. Stay. Away.
Pros
free lunch
Cons
Poor management, poor leadership, poor organization, cut throat, no loyalty

Mission driven team doing amazing work
Manager (Current Employee) –  Los AngelesOctober 11, 2018
The employees at National Health Foundation are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those they serve. They are forward thinking and willing to take risks. They create a fast paced, positive culture that promotes teamwork and results.
Pros
High energy, takes care of the employees (good benefits and lots of acknowledgement)
Cons
Not a place to "just put your head down and not be noticed". If you don't contribute, you WILL be noticed.

This organization is quick to fire
Manager (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 25, 2018
There is a complete lack of support from upper management. Management plays favorites. They fire staff faster, than you can fire a gun. The CEO and all upper management are very hands off. If you want a job with security, this is not the place to work. Many people go out on stress leave and never return.
Pros
Good Benefits. Decent pay
Cons
Lack of support from management, set up for failure

Motivated, fun team of competent and thoughtful people
Manager (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 10, 2018
I love working at NHF - the people are so motivated and well intentioned. It is a very team-oriented environment. No one is perfect and mistakes are made, but the supportive environment makes that OK. They promote from within and do personal development. It can be fast paced at times, but not other times. Good work life balance -- all of the leadership people are parents and understand that family and other personal responsibilities are important to people.
Pros
supportive, empathetic team
Cons
organization deals with tough community issues
