Specialist, Product Support in Alexandria, VA

Management sucks, they bring you in with the hopes of training which is so false. They put you in position with a book to train, managers in meetings all day every day and expect you to learn your roll with no training. The people are nice and friendly, benefits are wonderful, upper management needs to let the managers train the new comers and let managers managed.

Very satisfied clients and customers. Provides executives with the right mix of independence, collaboration, support, and resources.

Services Manager, Document Imaging in Alexandria, VA

This is the most professional workplace I have been at. The daily challenges can be difficult, but the rewards are tremendous. The hardest thing I had as a Services Manager was seeking out opportunities. It was a joy working with the various teams. Travel around the country to visit non-profit agencies was helpful to understand challenges of the workforce.

Nasty manager, training is extremely limited, irritated when you ask a lot of questions. You’re asked to lift and ship heavy items that a man should be doing. Training is vague and you are expected to take the floor running!

The Good: NIB has alot of great benefits! I enjoyed company get together's and some of the colleagues I have worked with.

The Horrible:

- Very slow hiring process. If HR doesn't move faster on this, they will be stuck with people who are desperate for jobs rather than folks who are highly qualified.

- Management is "untouchable" and folks are kept in these positions because of performance rather than a combination of performance and adequate people skills

- No room for advancement unless someone retires which doesn't happen that often

- Little to no accountability after training is issued (specifically with upper management)

- "This is how we've always done it" overall mentality. The default is outdated practices.

If you are looking for a "good ole boy" job, with a baby boomer mentality, this is the place for you. However, if you are looking to grow and to allow your voice to be heard, this isn't the place for you. There are town hall meetings with "suggestion box" questions being handed to the CEO for answering, but the questions are sometimes altered which prevent issues from being clearly relayed or addressed.
