Do not work here
Patient Service Coordinator/Insurance Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Alexandria, VANovember 10, 2018
Management is beyond horrible. No work/life balance. No employee appreciation. Make you work like a slave with no compensation. They make you work 3 different positions while only paying you for one.

Over worked, under staffed, lack of proper management!
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  CTJanuary 22, 2019
Working at NSPC, you are expected to work long days and nights, with little to no appreciation or recognition. In the amount of time I've spent here, there has been no informal or formal meeting as to the company expectations or the office concerns. Employees who perform little to no work in their department are praised. While employees who work hard receive the most headache. Even when things are discussed in writing, HR or management try to turn back on their word. DO NOT APPLY TO THIS COMPANY!
Pros
None
Cons
No lunch breaks, long hours, management lacks knowledge of pain management department, management also choose who to play nice with, no bonus as promised, the list is endless.

Medical Assisting Extern (Former Employee) –  Roanoke, VANovember 14, 2018
During my time at National Spine and Pain Centers I had the opportunity to learn many different tasks and grow in my field. I loved every minute of it and worked for the best doctor and office manager ever.

Managment and HR are shady
Patient Care Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Fairfax, VANovember 13, 2018
I would not recommend working here at all. The work environment is very negative, although the doctors seemed nice enough. If you are hired for one job, you will also have extra duties/jobs piled on top of that. If you work on the phones, be prepared to clean the rooms after patients leave too! HR looks out only for themselves. Few employees are the favored/choosen ones, and everyone else is expendable. They fire hard working employees without good reason, and wthout a second thought. It's all in a day's work for HR.

Other than free food and decent pay...
Patient Service Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Midlothian, VAOctober 9, 2018
Opportunity to advance is impossible. The HR department doesn’t keep things anonymous and absolutely show favoritism. Management is a joke because all that they want to do is micromanage and point out your flaws. You won’t advance even though you are told there is LOTS of room for growth. It was great years ago when they actually cared about the patients and employees not just the money.
Pros
Free lunch, pay, benefits
Cons
Poor management/HR, favoritism, only looking out for $ not patients or employees

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Alexandria, VAOctober 20, 2018
Poorly managed company that is taking on more then they can handle. Quality patient care is being sacrificed due to the exhaustion of the staff and the quality staff that is hired usually doesn't last with this company. Such a huge turn over. Only good thing is lunch-in's ALL THE TIME. Bad part is your food will be cold every time you get a chance to eat.
Pros
free food
Cons
no breaks, and under staffed

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Fredericksburg, VAAugust 1, 2018
The manager is horrible , all she cares about is eating and manipulating people . Very cut throat place I would never recommend this not even to an enemy . Manager plays back and forth games between doctors and employees. Always lies about raise advancement . Coworkers are amazing but when one doesn’t do their job be prepared to do it because management does not enforce others duties except put everything on MA’s

Great coworkers, awesome patients, no work/life balance
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Fairfax, VAJuly 21, 2018
Working at National Spine and Pain Centers you will find some of the best coworkers you could ask for. Hardworking, dedicated people who give 100% everyday. These same people are often overworked due to severe under-staffing which seems to be the culture of the place. The stress level is hard to compare to anywhere else. Staff is often underappreciated. I will say however, that the job is rewarding. Most patients really need help and they get it. Most of the doctors are great to work with and for but there are bad apples every where you go. Some doctors are difficult to say the least.
If you are willing to have no life outside of work, this is the place for you, its such a busy practice that you eat, live and breathe work.
Pros
You learn so much from working here.
Cons
Always understaffed.

New Leadership, Big mistake for this company
N/A (Former Employee) –  MarylandJuly 25, 2018
New leadership that has taken place has caused chaos for the whole company. I feel sorry for the many employees of the IT and billing departments which have now been outsourced. This company really needs to rethink a lot of choices that have been made. Leadership at NSPC is all about the money not patient care. Little do they know they've made the biggest financial mistake with their billing and IT departments. This company grew too fast and expected a small billing office to review all billing aspects company wide. Suggestion? Don't expect to make money if you're not willing to hire additional people to support your billing functions. This company will continue to lose money if they don't stop investing in new practices. Instead, invest in your employees.

Lesson of the day: Don't bite off more than what you can chew.
Pros
Lunch, Friendly Co-workers
Cons
Company does not care for it's employees or patients, Pay & PTO isn't worth the amount of stress endured, Hr, The amount of favoritism that takes place by management is ridiculous

Change in Management
AR rep (Current Employee) –  Hunt Valley, MDJuly 10, 2018
When I was first hired, it was a great place to work. A new company bought into it and it has been growing. Out with the old in with the new. They got all new management, not very good management.

Fast-paced office with good providers
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) –  NCMay 20, 2018
By far the most unqualified office manager I've ever had the displeasure of working with. An Incompetent bully who has no business working with people at all, let alone trying to manage a great group of employees by knocking them down, yelling, threatening, etc.
Pros

NSPC leadership has laid waste to employees for the price of profit. Outsourcing all billing and IT functions to a company whose resources are based
RCM (Former Employee) –  MarylandMay 26, 2018
NSPC leadership has laid waste to employees for the price of profit. Outsourcing all billing and IT functions to a company whose resources are based in India. So much for keeping jobs in America.
Cons
Leadership does not care about employees. Bad morale.
