Very busy atmosphere
Production Assistant (Former Employee) –  Niles, MIOctober 12, 2017
A very hot, dusty, and smoky workplace.A variety of duties kept it interesting, though the work was very hot, heavy and at times past paced job security was better than average. A team environment with
everybody working together made it a good place to work.
Pros
Good pay, teamwork environment
Cons
Very hot, dirty, and smoky environment as well as very heavy lifting.

Manufacture of industrial weld wire
Senior Welding Application Engineer (Former Employee) –  Stillwater, OKMay 24, 2017
They make weld wire for solid wire and tubular welding applications. Weld wire sales are very competitive. Making weld wire is a science. Welding is an art, a science and becoming technological advanced, thus weld wire needs to be treated as an engineered product.

It is a busy demanding job and management shows that they care
Operations Specialist (Former Employee) –  Stillwater, OKApril 29, 2017
When the work day begins in a production shop there is alot to do to start the shift. Operating three machines keeping product moving keeps you very busy from the start of the shift till the very end but it helps to make the day pass. the training period is lengthy but necessary to learn how to safely operate the large machines,
the work place enviroment is not very desireable but supervisors have no problem with the break system and there is a very nice and large break area with food and drink, management seemed to care about everyone, the job wasn't hard just high pace, loud and dusty. but at the end of the day you can see all that was accomplished and that can give you a good sense of pride for a long days work.
Pros
working for a family team, incentives that include your entire personal family
Cons
Loud, hot and dusty and being on your feet all day

Hard Work for Average Pay
Forklift Operator (Current Employee) –  Stillwater, OKSeptember 18, 2016
The environment in which you work is very dusty and dirty. The building is metal therefore, it gets very hot in the summertime. There is little or no room for advancement. Even when there is, your chances of getting it are slim to none. The pay is average for a college town where as say a forklift operator in OKC will make $22 an hour, you will make $15. The management is poor with a huge lack of communication. What goes for some employees will not go for everyone else.
Pros
They pay for your lunch time and every minute you are clocked in.
Cons
There are too many to list here!

Wouldn't recommend
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Stillwater, OKAugust 29, 2016
The job itself was constantly changing, people making fun of other employees(behind their backs), Mgmt. loved to belittle people who made mistakes. Even Mgmt loved to curse and talk extremely loud (especially office staff).
Cons
Everything important was kept "secret" for no reason

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Stillwater, OKJune 15, 2016
A typical day at work was standing at machines for pulling reels and making sure machines ran for 12 hours. Hardest part about the job was fixing wire brakes.

Hot, Dirty, Operator Equipment Attention lacking, Unskilled Management
Employee (Former Employee) –  Niles, MIMay 9, 2016
Worked in Niles Lake Street plant for a short period of time, under a very young, green plant manager who was trying his best to turn around the poor maintenance practices and operator attention to breakdowns of aging equipment, where operators read newspapers while their machines sat broken down, and couldn't pick up the phone to call maintenance.

Very unsafe plant, where you could be severely injured or killed by almost any operating lines. Breathing soap dust caused many a lung condition, along with the constant filth present and inches deep on the machinery and the employees.......

There were some good people there, but their efforts were overshadowed by the constant inattention of the union employees, which accounted for horrendous downtime and scrap.

Caterpiller threatened to pull their orders due to poor quality and missed deliveries!

Very happy to leave that atmosphere - worse than an old time foundry!

MIOSHA would have a field day there!
Pros
The ability to leave the company for better employment

Stated above

Line Technician (Former Employee) –  Stillwater, OKApril 8, 2016
You breathe in dust all day. Safety is not the most important thing there. Supervisors are more worried about covering their own mistakes than actually taking responsibility and getting problems fixed.

Dysfunctional
Manager (Former Employee) –  Niles, MIJuly 24, 2014
I wouldn't recommend it. Old facility with a lot of problems. Most equipment is older than operators and shows its age. Everything is an emergency. Constant dog-and-pony shows. Overall, an unpleasant place to work.
Pros
Checks didn't bounce
Cons
Literally...everything else
