This was an excellent company to work for, remaining on the cutting edge of Electronic Health Record technology and behavioral health policy. I enjoyed meeting with clients to understand their needs.

Great Place to Work
Delivery Analyst (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSApril 16, 2018
There is no clock in time, but mandatory minimum is usually 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. The learning curve is basically unlimited and somewhat daunting, but may be found attractive to those who constantly love to learn something new. The workplace culture was really great! Everyone was friendly and worked hard together. There was always help when needed.
The hardest part of the job was learning very quickly and being adaptive every day.
Traveling was very enjoyable because Netsmart knows how to take care of it's employees while on the road.
Pros
Paid vacation, Travel perks, incentives
Cons
Work life balance

Tight Management Team with little regard for employees or customers
second level management (Former Employee) –  Great River, NYFebruary 13, 2018
Netsmart is a company on the end of a whip held by venture capitalists. When the VCs crack the whip, Netsmart management jumps - regardless of the impact on customers and employees. Like too many organizations who's original management has long ago departed, Netsmart has lost its commitment to serving the needs of a loyal customer base who provide hope to people with behavioral problems. Taking its place is a commitment to attain more and more stock and options in anticipation of Netsmart's ultimate sale by its owners. Staff watch fearfully as terrific leaders are tossed out to gain back their shares or to reduce costs. Customers wait endlessly for fixes and updates they desperately need to run their organizations. Prospects are lied to about capabilities and futures and the entire company lurches toward the day when they will be sold - making it the next owner's problem. You might make a quick buck. You will damage your soul.

Working Support and NY Impacts Your Career
Solution Support Analyst II - Clinical (Current Employee) –  Great River, NYAugust 27, 2017
Working NY will limit your opportunities for advantancement and there are practically no opportunities for advancement in the Support structure. Your best bet is to hope they will to move you to Consulting. Consulting is very cutthroat and often ill-prepared to perform their duties because of high turnover.
Pros
Support office culture was good and you have job secuity
Cons
Practically no opportunities for advancement if you're in Support and NY

Great Marketing - Lacks Client Support
Sales (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSAugust 12, 2017
Pros: Company does a great job with marketing. They stay on top of current trends and marketing to those trends.

Cons: Lack of support for clients. Many current clients are very upset with lack of caring. There is a well earned reputation for poor service and it flows down from the executive team. While there are many great employees there trying to make a difference they grow tired of the internal roadblocks so real change never occurs.

Disorganized
Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSJune 26, 2017
Very disorganized in consulting. Projects regularly are in Write off. No team effort, a lot of "not my job, not my problem" mentality even when it is that person's job.

Revolving Door
Client Development Executive (Former Employee) –  Kansas City, KSFebruary 28, 2017
The result of multiple mergers; what is Netsmart is a confusing tangle of products and services that are poorly supported.
Sales management is chaotic and most reps don't stay very long.

Take a look at how many senior VPs are in the company and you will get an idea of the bureaucracy.
Pros
Nice building
Cons
cronyism, senior managment, poor support, employees not valued.

Good for experience
Field Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Solon, OHDecember 12, 2016
NetSmart was good to get experience under me, in all environments, but the management pigeon holes you when you get hired, and never follows through with promises. If you have little to no experience as I did, they will give you a low salary with promise of performance reviews and raises, but the reviews never happen more than once a year, and the raise is never based on performance, only the "going rate" everyone got. However, everyone who works with you, under management, is awesome and great to work with, but if you sign with a low salary, don't expect to increase that more than 3-6% over a given 5 year period.
Pros
Good experience builder, awesome co workers
Cons
What you start at in salary, is where you forever stay

Decent Company, Bad Manager
Software QA Engineer (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSAugust 23, 2016
The company itself is good and treats their workers fine. I was unfortunate enough to have a manager who told me she wanted me to learn by observing the procedures and documents that had been written for the last 5 years. Only problem was that she decided she didn't like the old process but didn't inform any of us. So she started placing blame on all the workers for "unacceptable" documents when they filled the requirements that had been in place for years.

I would recommend the company itself but I'd highly recommend avoiding a QA position.
Pros
Pancake fridays once a month
Cons
Managers are promoted on seniority instead of ability

Good Company
Revenue Cycle Manager (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLNovember 18, 2015
Netsmart was a good company to work for. The benefits and compensation was awesome. However, the program in which I was involved with is relatively new and has some management issues that need ironing out.
