VoIP Tier 1 Engineer (Former Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILDecember 26, 2017
This company is a training facility as others co workers would call it. You learn, gain experience and look for a better job. Management is poor here.
Pros

Paid well at least.
NOC Engineer (Former Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILOctober 18, 2017
There are demanding deadlines and sometimes vague expectations but at least there is paid overtime, even for salaried employees. While there, it seemed first shift was the favorite and later shifts tended to be criticized more critically by management for some reason.

VoIP Engineer (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 16, 2017
Was on contract. On site at a company in Dayton Ohio. Small Network service company. Didn't send a lot of time there but working with the people there was a good experience.

NDS is has a very good company culture and that allows you to develop your skills as a professional. Led by a great management team that truly listen to your needs.

Good place to work. Upper management is very capable. Communication is well developed within the company. Lots of small projects not too many major ones.

Unix Server Engineer - Remote Engineer (Former Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILOctober 28, 2014
There is a lot to be learn at Network Data Systems. Typical work days are all day (13 hours) and time at night (2-3 hours), no weekends. Management is pretty solid, co-workers can be awesome or terrible. Most times, they were awesome for me, however, some had the stereotypical IT professional attitude...They "know it all" and are not happy to help others. Hardest part of the job was being expected to fully work other people's projects for weeks, while they were out, because all the projects were worlds apart in every sense. The best part about the job was working from home 100% and having a nice salary. Working so much might not have been as big of a problem, if they were willing to actually pay for the time worked. Network Data Systems refused to pay for more than 40 hrs per week, yet expected employees to work 50 - 65 hours per week... literally
Pros
Nice salary and remote work
Cons
The unreasonable expectation that employees should work ALL the time

Excellent place to work and a company with great values.
Sales Support Manager (Former Employee) –  Worked remote from Williamsburg, VAOctober 19, 2014
Worked remote. Given general direction and then left alone to execute. Help was always available if needed.
Had the opportunity to learn a number of new skills, such as writing press releases and learning all the certifications required for the highest level recognition by Cisco, Microsoft & Juniper.
Co-workers were some of the best I have ever worked with.
Truly a class act company.

Manager, Equipment Implementation and Engineering (Former Employee) –  San Jose, CA.March 26, 2012
NDS is a solid company with great folks. Unfortunately their employment staff is dictated by the customer and economic budgets not necessarily by the quality of the contracted staff.
