Sales clerk,
Sales clerk, waited on customers, rang up sales, stocked shelves, helped with closing out at end of day. Tension in work place due to management.

Great people, poor communication
There is a complete lack of transparency regarding the direction of the company. Very much a “hurry up and wait” culture at the moment, which is unfortunate for a once-great job.

Managment has no respect for the little people
The pay is good and the bennefits are great. Made lots of friends with other workers. All managment cares about is the money. The workers are replaceable and disposable.

Overall

Brick and Mortar retail is still fairly new for New Balance. It’s a small portion of their overall business and used primarily to sell through old and undersold shoe styles. It keeps their shoes from being sold by third party which would lower their value. It’s more of a marketing tool than income producer although, it’s very profitable. You’ll spend a great deal of time participating in virtual meetings outside what would appear to be your scope of business. Which is collaborative and informative but can eat up a lot of your time. Because of this you receive little direction from your supervisor but be expected to produce results. If you can wear many hats you’ll do great.

Good until management became toxic.
The job came with some perks in the beginning and management appears to be supportive but once time went by, the favoritism began to show and work became unappreciated. Also black people were consistently followed around the store, to the point where management would act as if we didn't have shoes in the back in order to prevent them from purchasing, as they assumed the black customers had fraudulent cards and cash. yllennod,
