Relational Model Wilderness Therapy
Wilderness Therapy Lead Instructor (Former Employee) – Northwoods, WI – October 14, 2015
I can only speak to the Northwoods branch, but I had an amazing experience working within this organization. It is a relationship-based model that does not believe in the break them down approach, levels, or feel imprisoning to the clients. It stood out to me how often the therapist where in the field, the level of therapeutic processing the staff are trained to provide, the creativity that was encouraged, and the support for development. This program is unique as it provides so many alternative therapies as well like canine, art, yoga, and adventures. Wilderness therapy is hard, but this is a great opportunity to break into the field and gain experience in the mental health and trauma field. Management is great and the community of people was fun.
mentor-ship with therapist, hands on experience, creativity
