What is the interview process like at New York City Department of Education?

Interview process is carried out by the Interviewing Committee which is a group of veteran teachers that have worked a Pathways and know and understand the school culture and expectations.

3 step via online and in house. principal will decide if youre hired or not. research the school online before interview.

It depends on what position you are seeking. Both Principal and Assistant Principal positions are guided by the Chancellor’s C-30 Regulation Process. Teachers are recruited in many ways: (#1) - Sometimes through a “Demo Lesson.” (#2) - Sometimes there is such a shortage in the License Area, they take anyone with a pulse and get him/her certified over time. (#3) - Sometimes it is through a friend-of-a-friend.

It depends on the Position being sought and the needs of a particular School and the regulations for that interview process.
