If you took 50 FDNY EMS workers and asked them each if they liked their job, you'd get a 50/50 split. The pay is terrible compared to the super high cost of living and taxes. The benefits are great, but having to stay on for 25 years is asking a lot of people who run more then 1.5 million EMS calls in The City That Never Sleeps. Great place to work. Coworkers are supportive and assisting. Supervisors are understanding and compassionate. A typical day is filled with adventure.
