The NYC Fire Department is a great place to work if you are a Firefighter. If you go to FDNY and go to a civilian position as a Fire Alarm Dispatcher be prepared that the instructors yell at you, they even tell you that they want to see fires. Who in their right mind wants to see people's properties burn up. I will tell anyone go see a psychiatrist if you want to be a FDNY Fire Alarm Dispatcher...

Working for the FDNY is an interesting experience. Though your work uniform may be the same, each day on the job is anything but. From fires, bombings, car accidents to bariatric, geriatric and pediatric injuries/infections, the FDNY as well as the City of New York is always interesting.
